On October 16, the graduation ceremony of the 2024 first senior tea evaluation teacher class of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the China Tea Society was held in Hangzhou with the theme of "Teachers Gather Dream Team and Tea Teachers Shine and Shine Skills".

This year coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the China Tea Society. Yang Yajun, honorary chairman of the society, said in his speech that the society has gone through more than 20 years of history in the cultivation of talents in the tea industry. After years of hard work and wisdom gathering, a pyramid-shaped tea industry talent training system has been gradually established with the training of skilled talents as the cornerstone, the training of professional talents as the backbone, and the training of teachers as the apex. The successful opening of the first senior tea evaluation teacher class has raised the spire of this pyramid to a new height, and also strengthened the reputation of the society's "teacher dream team".

Since 2018, the Tea Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the China Tea Society have jointly established the Tea Evaluation Teacher Class, which has been successfully held for seven consecutive sessions and has trained more than 300 high-quality and high-skilled evaluation teachers, of which 9 have won the title of "National Technical Expert" in the National Skills Competition. In order to further improve the professional level and comprehensive quality of tea evaluation teachers, on the basis of the original tea evaluation teacher training course, the "senior tea evaluation teacher training course" came into being.

It is understood that the first senior tea evaluation teacher training course brought together 52 students with high education, high skills and high quality from 18 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government and Hong Kong S.A.R.. Among them, 6 students were awarded the title of "National Technical Expert", and more than 10 students were awarded the honorary titles of top-notch talents, craftsmen, master studio leaders, post pacesetters, and intangible cultural heritage inheritors in various provinces and cities. In the past year, under the guidance of more than 30 domestic authoritative experts and famous teachers in the fields of tea science, food science, sensory science, etc., the students set off from Hangzhou, passing through Changsha, Yueyang, Ningde, Fu'an and other places, and went deep into the tea area for field investigation and learning. Through 256 class hours of day and night learning and the evaluation practice of 616 tea samples, I broadened my horizons and ideas, and significantly improved my evaluation skills.

At the graduation ceremony, four evaluation skills items of "flavor identification, quality ranking, comprehensive evaluation, and tea design" were set up, and the students showed their learning achievements with joy and pride. They either meticulously identified the flavor of tea, or carried out quality sorting in a rigorous and orderly manner, or conducted a comprehensive and in-depth comprehensive evaluation, or creatively designed novel tea products, which won bursts of applause and high praise from the teachers and students present.
