Recently, in the picturesque Liu Sanshui Yun Habitat Garden, the practical results of the "Habitat Community· Little Builders" youth ecological civilization practice education activity in Xinjing Town were unveiled. The handicraft creation area, painting art area, and picture book reading area are full of creativity and wisdom of young people, adding a different kind of brilliance to this beautiful habitat garden.
Located in the southeast corner of the third phase of Hongkang Garden, the water habitat garden is rich and diverse, with aquatic plants such as water lilies and water chestnuts growing leisurely, and herbaceous plants such as hibiscus, sage, and yueji blooming, attracting fireflies, bees, butterflies and other insects to settle down here. This biodiverse habitat has not only become a vivid classroom for young people's science education, but also inspired their artistic creation.

This year, the Xinjing Town Community Youth Work Committee joined hands with Duoyue Public Welfare to jointly launch the "Habitat Community · Little Builders" youth ecological practice education project. The students of Shicun Primary School use the flora and fauna in the park as a source of inspiration for their creations to explore the integration of nature and humanity. After half a year of practice, the children not only became familiar with this habitat, but also created hundreds of works of art based on this habitat, including picture books, paintings, insect huts, etc.
On October 10th, Xinjing Town held an exhibition titled "Habitat Implications: Dreaming of Drawing Nature without Boundaries" in the Habitat Garden, which showcased the students' artistic achievements. Here, nature and creativity are intertwined into a moving picture, as if the piano is harmonious, playing a beautiful movement of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
In the handicraft area, there are unique and colorful insect huts displayed on the shelves, which are as eye-catching as works of art. This is a warm home for insects created by the students, and through these huts, we seem to be able to glimpse the lively scene of insects thriving in these small worlds.
These unique and insect-friendly huts are designed and built by the students through their ingenuity and clever use of a variety of materials, such as rustic wood blocks, lightweight cardboard, and natural leaves.
The painting area brings together children's innocent and creative hand-painted and botanical spray paintings. In the paintings, blooming and colorful flowers bloom one after another, forming a vivid and fascinating picture of nature.
Previously, the students carefully observed and drew inspiration from the garden, and skillfully integrated the forms and colors of plants into their creations to form this exquisite work. Seeing their works being displayed one by one, and even made into postcards, the students were both surprised and proud.
There are many hand-drawn storybooks on the shelves in the picture book area, which are rich in content and beautiful pictures, and people can't help but want to read them. The students skillfully integrated the morphological characteristics, living habits and interaction between insects and their surroundings into the picture with smart brushstrokes.
Picture book area
Each picture book is vivid and interesting, and the students carefully draw the insect world they observe every day with their unique perspective and unlimited imagination. From the busy bees collecting honey to the butterflies dancing lightly, from the industrious nesting ants to the mysterious nocturnal fireflies, they are all endowed with vivid vitality and rich storylines.
