It's a scam!
More than 10 parents and school staff were deceived
Recently, a so-called "autumn infectious disease prevention knowledge course" information was forwarded in a district's major school groups, class groups, the release time of the message is close to the start of classes, and its format is similar to the notice usually issued by the school, and requires "collect screenshots watched by parents and send email", which is highly confusing, resulting in more than ten parents and school staff scanning the QR code according to the guidelines to buy "preferential learning courses", thus being deceived.
Analysis of fraud methods
In fact, "false notification" scams are not new, and have already happened in many places. The scammer first joins the group chat by illegal means, and after viewing the profile picture, nickname and other information of the administrator in the group, he quickly creates a high-imitation account.
Taking advantage of teachers' and parents' concern for children's education and health, they publish false notices such as "open classes on the prevention and control of infectious diseases" and "campus safety education", and such false notices have a tight time requirement to make teachers, students, and parents have no time to verify, so as to increase the success rate of their fraud.
Finally, teachers, students and parents are induced to click on unfamiliar websites, and then induce citizens to scan the QR code to pay for courses and purchase courses to defraud money on the grounds of "limited-time discounts".
