Today, the province's first "intelligent variable tidal lane" was put into use at the intersection of Daqing Road and Renmin Road in Xiangyang.
The intersection of Daqing Road and Renmin Road is located in the commercial area, which is restricted by "many cars and narrow roads", and there will always be "fixed" congestion when the traffic turns left and goes straight during the morning and evening rush hours and holidays. Therefore, the Xiangyang traffic police innovatively launched the "intelligent variable tidal lane" to effectively alleviate the congestion of queuing and waiting for lights during the peak hours of the road section.
At 8 o'clock in the morning, the reporter saw at the scene that the "intelligent variable tidal lane" was set up on Daqing Road and turned left to Renmin Road, borrowing an exit lane in the opposite direction, adding a left-turn lane, and the police have added tidal lane signs on road signs.
The center barrier is set up as a movable tidal barrier, which can automatically change lanes by remote or proximal remote control.
Yang Feng, deputy chief of the order section of the traffic police detachment of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, introduced: the tidal lane is 80 meters long, composed of 17 groups of tidal robots, and the power energy is provided by the solar panels that come with each group of robots, which is green and environmentally friendly, and can be used normally even in continuous rainy weather.
During the peak period, the driving direction of the tidal lane remains unchanged from east to west; During the morning and evening rush hours, the driving direction is changed to turn left from west to east, and the original one left-turn lane is changed to two lanes to improve the traffic efficiency of the intersection.
When the lane changes, the red warning light installed on the top of each group of robots will automatically flash to remind you, plus the on-site traffic police command to ensure mobile safety. After being put into use this morning, the length of the vehicle queue has been significantly shortened, and the traffic efficiency has increased by more than 20%.
It is understood that this is the first "intelligent variable tidal lane" in Xiangyang and even the province, and the traffic police department will continue to increase if there is a similar demand for other road sections in the future.
