Last night, the WTT China Grand Slam announced the list of wild cards for each individual event. Among them, Sun Yingsha will join hands with Wang Yidi in women's doubles.
The inaugural WTT China Grand Slam will be held from September 26 to October 6 at Beijing's Shijingshan Shougang Park, after WTT had already announced the tournament roster. In singles, the Chinese team sent all the main players except Fan Zhendong, Ma Long, and Chen Meng, as well as rookies Lin Shidong, Kuo Man, and the women's team good player Qian Tianyi. In the doubles, the national table tennis team sent the men's doubles Wang Chuqin/Liang Jingkun, the women's doubles Wang Manyu/Kuo Man, and the mixed doubles Lin Shidong/Kuo Man.
Among the wild card lists of the organizers announced this time, the women's doubles pair Sun Yingsha/Wang Yidi is undoubtedly the most eye-catching. Although the two rarely work together and are currently ranked only 41st in the world, they won the Asian Championships runner-up together last year, and as a combination of the Olympic singles runner-up and the national table tennis Olympic substitute, they undoubtedly have the strength to win the championship. World No. 12 Chen Xingtong/Qian Tianyi also won the women's doubles main draw wild card, and the Chinese women's doubles is expected to form a "three insurance". Chen Yi/Xu Yi and Zong Geman/Qin Yuxuan also won wild cards in the women's doubles main event.
Lin Gaoyuan, the main player of the other country's table tennis, won the wild card of the main draw of two doubles events, and will join hands with Lin Shidong in the men's doubles and Wang Yidi in the mixed doubles, and the two pairs are ranked 8th and 13th respectively in the world, which is also very strong. The remaining three Men's Doubles wildcards were given to Yuan Licen/Xiang Peng, Huang Youzheng/Xu Yingbin, Zhou Qihao/Chen Yuanyu, while the Mixed Doubles wildcards were Yuan Licen/Shi Xunyao, Xiang Peng/Liu Weishan, and Xue Fei/Qian Tianyi.
