Professor Lin Shunchao said, "As an ophthalmologist, my greatest wish is to help patients regain their sight, and I will never forget my original intention and go all out to bring more light and hope to the world." Hong Kong's future depends on our ability to integrate into the overall development of the Greater Bay Area and the country. Hong Kong is backed by the motherland and connected to the rest of the world. In terms of medical care, it can play a role in promoting the in-depth integration of the Greater Bay Area and Hong Kong, and play a role in leading, integrating and improving the medical standards of the entire Greater Bay Area, so as to bring it into line with international standards as soon as possible. ”

In 2013, with the support of CEPA, Professor Lam successfully established the first wholly Hong Kong-owned "C-MER Eye Hospital" in Shenzhen, marking the first milestone of Shenzhen-Hong Kong medical cooperation. Dr Lam's original intention is to encourage more Hong Kong medical institutions to set up medical services in the north through his practice and the success of C-MER, and promote the integration of healthcare in the Greater Bay Area. Over the years, he has been actively involved in public affairs, serving as a Hong Kong deputy to the National People's Congress and a member of the Legislative Council, building bridges between Hong Kong and the Mainland. In the end, he said, "After a century of vicissitudes in China, now that the dragon has awakened and risen peacefully, let the Chinese people in Hong Kong and all over the world embrace this great era and dance with the dragon, give full play to their strengths, serve the needs of the country, and strive for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!" ”
