After more than 10 years of grassroots work, what I usually hear and see, including the words spoken by some leaders at meetings, and even the mentions in some materials and documents, outsiders can fully understand the helplessness and hard work of grassroots work.
"Work is life, and life is work", this seemingly helpless expression profoundly reveals the special situation of grassroots cadres. In their day-to-day work, they tend to be fully engaged, with few clear work-life boundaries. Whether it's a holiday or late at night, the call to mission can ring at any time.
"A desk is an office, and an extra bed is a bedroom" is no exaggeration. In some grassroots areas with difficult conditions, the office environment is simple and space is limited. Maybe it's just a small room, with a desk for business during the day and a bed for rest at night. For example, in some remote towns and villages, grassroots cadres often stick to such a simple environment day and night in order to deal with emergencies in a timely manner.
"24-hour standby", behind these four words is a huge responsibility and pressure. The work at the grassroots level is complicated, and emergencies emerge one after another. Whether it is the sudden arrival of a natural disaster or the emergency outbreak of people's livelihood problems, grassroots cadres need to respond at the first time and be ready to work at any time. They never dare to turn off their mobile phones, and they are always on high alert, even in their sleep, they may be woken up by an emergency call and quickly put into work.
"White plus black 5+2", this work mode has become the norm for grassroots cadres. On weekdays, they are busy with various affairs during the day, visiting and researching, implementing policies, resolving disputes, and sorting out materials, writing reports, and planning plans at night. I couldn't get enough rest on weekends, I was still on my job on Saturday, and I was uncertain on Sunday.
"There is no guarantee of rest on Saturday and no rest on Sunday." This is not a simple joke, but a true portrayal of the work and life of grassroots cadres. From a historical point of view, grassroots work has always been full of hardships and challenges. In the past, transportation and communications were underdeveloped, and grassroots cadres often had to go over mountains and mountains and go from village to village in order to convey policies and understand the people's feelings, and they made tremendous efforts. From a social point of view, today's rapid social development has led to higher and higher demands on grassroots work, and the pressure on grassroots cadres is also increasing day by day. From a cultural point of view, the cultural concept of serving the people is deeply rooted in their hearts, driving them to work tirelessly and contribute silently.
These ridiculous jokes, which are widely circulated among grassroots cadres, do not come out of thin air, but truly reflect the real state of the work and life pressure of grassroots cadres. In their ordinary posts, they are under tremendous pressure and have made hard efforts for the stability and development of society.
It can be said that without the trivial things of the vast number of grassroots personnel, there is no foundation for the development of production and the economy, and the society is in chaos. It is only in this structure that we can understand this reality, and to outsiders, many of us are superfluous, not doing things for a day, but from the perspective of the social structure, there are many jobs that do need people to communicate and serve.
In it, it is really nothing to be tired and hard, but now all kinds of assessments, various responsibilities and various tasks are pressed down layer by layer, many people at the grassroots level are deeply affected by it, various work groups, APP, reports, ledgers in the mobile phone, various inspection and guidance, research and discussion, investigation and study, exchange and conversation, audit accountability, a large number of our own working hours, resulting in a reduction in contact time with the masses, the masses do not understand what we are doing, and think that we have nothing to do to mix time, in fact, our little rest time is completely occupiedThese are the real reasons why our grassroots cadres are tired and under pressure.
