The Data Security Law of the People's Republic of China, as a basic law in the field of data security in mainland China, is an important law that regulates data processing activities, ensures data security, promotes data development and utilization, protects the legitimate rights and interests of individuals and organizations, and safeguards national sovereignty, security and development interests, and will come into force on September 1, 2021.
Over the past three years, the state security organs have adhered to the guidance of the overall national security concept, and worked with relevant departments to severely crack down on illegal and criminal acts in the field of data security in accordance with the law, promptly eliminating security risks such as theft and leakage of important data, and effectively safeguarding national data security.
On September 2, the Ministry of State Security released a typical case related to data security in the mainland.
