In the middle of the street in Moka City, Tochigi Prefecture, stands a statue of Jizo Bodhisattva.
According to the "History of Ninomiya Town" before the local merger, this place was originally a temple approach, but in the 1800s, when the temple was abandoned, the road was built, and the Jizo was moved to another place, resulting in one misfortune after another for the villagers. In 1847, the statue was brought back to its original place, and it has been standing in the middle of the road ever since.
Because the roads are narrow, residents need to slow down when driving by.
