Two membership fees

Oral description: Jiang Guangming, procuratorate of Gucheng County, Hubei Province

The old party member I want to talk about is Chen Shaocheng, the retired head of the old political engineering section of our hospital for many years, and the deepest impression he left on me was that he paid the party fee twice.

The first time was in early June 2008, at more than 10 o'clock in the morning, when I was sorting out the files in the office when I heard a soft knock at the door, and after my "please come in", the door was pushed open.

Coming in was an old man who was thin, his eyes drooping, and his hair almost fell out, and another middle-aged man, who was helped in by a middle-aged man due to his weakness. This old man is Chen Shaocheng, and the middle-aged man is his son Chen Zhongfu.

Seeing the father and son enter the house, I was a little surprised, so I hurriedly called Chen Zhongfu outside the door to quietly inquire, only to learn that Chen Shaocheng had been hospitalized for more than five months with bladder cancer at that time, and had undergone many chemotherapy and radiotherapy, in order not to add trouble to the organization, he let his family keep the condition hidden.

Upon learning of this, I immediately went into the house to make tea for them and sat across from him and chatted.

After a period of small talk, Chen Shaocheng explained the purpose of his coming. He said he had been lying in the hospital these days and had barely left the house. Two days ago, I heard that there was a big earthquake in Wenchuan, Sichuan, and I wanted to come out to inquire and see what I could do for the organization. A few days ago, I wanted to come to the organ to see, but I have not been able to get out of bed, either chemotherapy or injections, people are very weak. Today's state is good, the weather is sunny, and the son is just fine, so he gave the injection and called his son to come.

Chen Shaocheng was already sweating when he said this, and he couldn't catch his breath. In order not to tire him, I interrupted his narration and beckoned him to drink some water and take a break.

He took a sip of water and said yes again. He said that he had just come up after reading the "Announcement of Communist Party Members Supporting the Reconstruction of the People in the Disaster-stricken Areas and Enthusiastically Paying the "Special Party Fees"" in the propaganda column of the organ, and wanted to make some contributions to the people in the disaster-stricken areas.

He clamped his legs, took out a cloth bag from his pocket with trembling hands, and then took out a hundred yuan, four two pieces of money and two bills of one yuan, as well as three one yuan coins, and three one yuan coins, and said in a hoarse voice: "These days, I have gone far with the unit, and I don't know anything, so I should ask the organization to accept it as a party fee." ”

With that, he wiped the sweat from his face with a cloth wrapped in money.

After listening to Chen Shaocheng's words, I saw that his sallow and thin face and beads of sweat appeared on his forehead, and I wanted to cry at that time, but I was afraid of being discovered, and when he wiped his sweat, I hurriedly lifted the tea bottle to help him add water.

A few minutes later, he still noticed that I was in tears, and he was busy signaling his son to help him leave. Before leaving, he said two "I'm sorry" in a row, and until now, I don't know what his two "sorry" mean.

The second payment of the membership fee was after a gap of 6 months. That morning, just after going to work, I was sitting in the office checking the information, when I suddenly saw a middle-aged man flash in, and only after a closer look did I recognize that it was Chen Zhongfu. I hurriedly stood up to say hello, and by the way, I wanted to inquire about Chen Shaocheng's condition. But before he could speak, Chen Zhongfu spoke, saying that his father's condition had deteriorated, and he didn't have much time to delay, and he just came in to inquire about how to pay the party fee.

Seeing that he was in a hurry, I was also anxious, and I did not leave him to drink water, so I led him toward the political office. Inquiring along the way, I learned that Chen Zhongfu had come to pay the party fee for his father.

It turned out that chen Shaocheng's condition had deteriorated since he paid the "special party fee" at that time, and he could still walk around the hospital yard at first, and then he could only lie on the hospital bed, and then it was difficult to even speak. On December 19 of the same year, the day before Chen Shaocheng's death, he kept pouting in his mouth, as if he had something to confess. Relatives wanted to understand and put their ears to his mouth, but no one could hear a clear word.

At night, Chen Shaocheng was more energetic, so he called Chen Zhongfu to his side, saying that his whole life had been given by the party, and without the party there would be nothing for him, and that he should thank the party and do more for the organization. He also said that he had planned to pay the party fee after he was well, but it had not been realized, this delay was 6 months, and now he could not go, and he wanted to ask Chen Zhongfu to go to the unit to pay on behalf of him, and he wanted to explain clearly to the organization that he did not intend to default on the party fee.

On the same day after Chen Shaocheng paid the party fee, he left this world that he never let go of forever...

"In the era of rampant materialism, Chen Shaocheng could not bear to leave because he did not pay the party fee on time, and he was still blaming himself, and I am really proud and proud of having such comrades and party members in our party!" Chen Shaocheng's two party fees have made many people feel this way.

Chen Shaocheng, born in May 1930 in Dengzhou City, Henan Province, enlisted in the army in 1951, placed in the Gucheng County Court in Hubei Province in 1957, joined the Communist Party of China in March 1975, and was transferred to the Gucheng County Procuratorate in June 1978. He retired from work in January 1991 and died on December 20, 2008 at the age of 78 due to ineffective treatment for bladder cancer.
