How to do a good job of health protection in hot weather

After the beginning of autumn, the summer heat is not over, and in many areas, especially in the southern provinces, the weather is still hot. How to deal with hot weather? Who needs to pay extra attention to health protection?

Liang Xiao, head nurse of the emergency department of Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University, suggested that in hot weather, you should eat more light and easy-to-digest foods such as fresh vegetables and fruits, and appropriately increase protein intake. Pay attention to hydration, maintain the balance of water in the body, and drink light salt water or sports drinks to replenish electrolytes in the body. Pay attention to the combination of work and rest, ensure regular and adequate sleep, and do not exercise too much.

According to the Guidelines for Public Health Protection of High Temperature and Heat Waves issued by the National Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention, sensitive groups such as the elderly, children, pregnant women, patients with chronic underlying diseases and outdoor workers are the key groups for health protection during high temperature and heat waves, and they need to strengthen their own protection.

Experts pointed out that outdoor workers, takeaway boys and other personnel should pay attention to the local weather forecast and replenish water and electrolytes in time. Pay attention to changing sweat-soaked clothes in time, and bring cool oil, wind oil essence and other heatstroke prevention items. Arrange outdoor work time reasonably, take regular breaks and reduce high temperature exposure time to prevent occupational heat stroke.

If you have symptoms of heat stroke, take immediate action. Liang Xiao told reporters that although heat stroke is an acute physical reaction, there are still some premonitory symptoms. When you are in a high temperature and humidity environment, you should immediately move to a cool and ventilated place and replenish water and electrolytes, wipe the skin of your limbs with a cool towel, or apply ice packs and ice cubes to your forehead, armpits, groin and other parts to help the body dissipate heat and cool down in time. If you have a coma or other serious illness, you should immediately send to a nearby hospital for treatment.
