1. The Battle of Sand Ridge
Among them, before Hu Qicai served as the commander of the 4th Column, the commander of the 4th Column was originally Wu Kehua. They had participated in the Battle of Sand Ridge before, but the situation was not optimistic.
In 1946, the Kuomintang New Sixth Army was ready for battle, and their strength reached more than 2,000 people, and they were entrenched in Shaling Village. Therefore, the actions of our troops must not stop, and it is inevitable that a certain number of troops will be concentrated to meet the enemy.
It can be said that in this battle, our army dispatched a large number of personnel, and even the enemy was weak and we were strong, but the Kuomintang army also formed a certain combat situation, and the situation can only be said to be not optimistic about our army.
Then after the battle began, our troops took the lead in attacking the high ground. Although our army successfully won it in the end, it also paid a lot of price in the process.
However, even in this situation, the attack of our troops could not be stopped, and then an attack was launched to the southwest of the village. This time it did not go well, because the offensive was several times, but our troops were never successful, and even many commanders died heroically.
After that, the situation still did not change much, and even when they surrounded Majiadian, the battle situation was still the same, but our soldiers never gave up, and even persevered to the end.
Later, after the general offensive was launched, it was a fierce battle for them all night, but fortunately, there was a certain breakthrough. But just after our army thought that the Kuomintang was retreating, the Kuomintang launched a certain counterattack, and the final casualties were self-evident.
It can be said that the battle finally lasted two days and three nights, and although the Kuomintang army lost more than 600 people, the casualties of our troops were probably more than three times that of them. The impact of this on our troops is bound to be tragic.
Among them, Wu Kehua also led the 4 columns to participate in it, which can be imagined to have a great impact on them. Subsequently, there were many changes in the ranks, among which Wu Kehua was transferred to the Liaodong Military Region to serve as chief of staff, deputy commander and other positions, and Hu Qicai took office in the 4th column.
Second, Hu Qicai is the deputy
We are no strangers to Hu Qicai, he is also a poor family working for the landlord's family, so he will do a lot of work when he is a child. Although Hu Qicai has only studied, he has only been in the village for three years, and even in addition to daily life, he also needs to farm for his family.
However, even though the education period is short, the impact on Hu Qicai is profound. The most noteworthy thing is that his teacher was a member of our party, so Hu Qicai, who was deeply influenced, also joined a certain revolutionary activity.
So in 1932, Hu Qicai also successfully joined our party. Hu Qicai on the battlefield can be said to be quite brave, and in less than five years, Hu Qicai was injured many times, but he was not afraid of it, and even he dared to participate in the Long March even if he was not very old, and even held a more important position in it.
By 1946, Hu Qicai had a lot of injuries, and the old head injury was a headache for him, so he once left the army for treatment.
In this way, Hu Qicai was later appointed as the commander of the 4th Column because he could fight, and his ability can only be said to be beyond doubt, just like the Battle of Xinkailing, they also raised their eyebrows once.
It's just that we have to know that it is inevitable to win and lose on the battlefield, and there is no so-called absolute, so Wu Kehua's ability cannot be questioned. Then, in 1947, our army also ushered in a tense period of fighting, so a certain amount of mobilization was also needed.
As a result, Wu Kehua was also transferred back to continue to serve as commander, and Hu Qicai seemed to have been reduced in position and turned to be his deputy. However, I think that during the war, they will not pay too much attention to these changes, and I am afraid that they will pay more attention to the next battle, which is to play a role and contribute as much as possible.
In fact, in 1947, Hu Qicai also had a recurrence of an old injury, so he also recuperated for a period of time. When Hu Qicai returned to the team again, he was still unstoppable.
Just like in the time of the Tashan Blockade, Tashan is very important, and this task is also very huge. Because although it was Tashan, there was no mountain in Tashan, so they had no danger to defend, so this task was handed over to Hu Qicai and he was ordered to command.
The final result is well known, after all, Hu Qicai's defense is unbelievable even for Lao Jiang. He had considered the position many times before, and the final deployment had also made great adjustments, so it could be said that it was quite solid.

Wu Kehua joined the Red Army unit in 1929 and participated in many struggles, and fought to the end during the encirclement and suppression of the Red Army and the Long March, especially on the Long March.
The enemy's pursuit continued, so he led his troops to block the enemy, which can be said to have provided a lot of help to the main force and made them out of danger, so Wu Kehua successfully completed his task in it, and also played a huge role in it.
At one time, Wu Kehua made great achievements, and at the same time, he also received a lot of praise. Later, Wu Kehua also went to the Anti-Japanese Red Army University to study, which can be said to be very important for his ability to improve.
During the Sino-Japanese War, Wu Kehua's main place of work was in Shanghai, and he was even involved in secret work, but in short, he experienced far more dangers than we know.
In addition, in the struggle against the Japanese base in Jiaodong, Wu Kehua participated in its consolidation and development, and he served as the deputy commander at that time, which also had a great influence.
