　　The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) put forward a series of major reform measures to promote social fairness and justice and enhance people's well-being. 　　Reporter: How do you understand the achievements of the reform in the fields of employment, social security and other areas of people's livelihood since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China?

Wang Xiaoping: The "Decision" is not only a continuation of the practice of comprehensively deepening reform since the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, but also a new chapter of the era of promoting Chinese-style modernization in the new journey. The "Decision" proposes that "ensuring and improving people's livelihood in the process of development is a major task of Chinese modernization. This fully embodies the fundamental purpose of our party to serve the people wholeheartedly and highlights the people-centered value orientation.

　　Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core has attached great importance to ensuring and improving people's livelihood, conforming to the people's new expectations for a better life, and deploying and promoting a series of major reforms with strong pertinence and sufficient gold content, so that the people's sense of gain, happiness and security will be more substantial, more secure and more sustainable. For example, in terms of employment, we will continue to regard employment as the most basic livelihood of the people, implement the strategy of giving priority to employment, enrich and develop active employment policies, and improve relevant institutional systems. With an average of 13 million new jobs created in urban areas every year, the scale of the labor force lifted out of poverty has remained stable at more than 30 million, and more than 21 million people with employment difficulties have been employed. In terms of social security, China has pushed the construction of the social security system into the fast lane, and successfully built the world's largest social security net. The number of people insured by pension insurance, unemployment insurance, and work-related injury insurance has increased from 790 million, 150 million, and 190 million at the end of 2012 to 1.07 billion, 240 million, and 300 million by the end of 2023, respectively. 　　Wang Xiaoping: Employment is the most basic livelihood. At present and for some time to come, the total labor force on the mainland is still huge, and the pressure on total employment will still exist. At the same time, profound changes have taken place in the structure of the labor force, the accelerated development of new quality productive forces, the cultivation and growth of emerging industries, and the layout and construction of future industries have put forward new and higher requirements for the skill level of workers. There is a shortage of skilled talents, a mismatch between supply and demand of human resources, and structural employment contradictions that need to be solved urgently, and there is still a lot of work to be done to promote high-quality and full employment.

　　We should firmly grasp the new positioning and new mission of employment work, with the goal of promoting high-quality and full employment, guided by the implementation of the employment-first strategy, with the strengthening of employment-first policies as the starting point, and the deepening of the reform of the employment system and mechanism as the driving force, so as to continue to promote the effective improvement of the quality of employment and the reasonable growth of quantity.
