In 1976, she was admitted to the China Opera and Dance Theatre, and her songs were based on singing the motherland and singing her hometown, and she served as the heroine in many operas such as "Sister Jiang", "Liu Hulan", "Gulan Danmu", "The Long Stream of Water" and so on. Lu Xiumei immersed herself in the early study of the combination of ethnic singing and bel canto singing, and Lu Xiumei really began to become popular in the 90s, when she became famous for singing songs such as "Golden Shuttle and Silver Shuttle", "Where is Spring", "Ode to the South Lake", and other popular songs, and was selected as "China's Top Ten National Soprano Singers".
She was also invited to perform at major festivals on CCTV, and in the 90s, Lu Xiumei sang at the Spring Festival Gala many times, of which the song "Want to Kiss" became popular at the Spring Festival Gala. With her husband's imprisonment Lu Xiumei gradually stepped off the stage, during Zhao An's imprisonment, Lu Xiumei encountered a low point in her life, and the appearance fee changed from 50,000 to only about 2,000 yuan! But Lu Xiumei, who has feelings and righteousness, still did not choose to divorce, which can be described as sentient and righteous!
Later, Lu Xiumei suffered from cancer because of life and mental blows, and died at the age of 55, and many viewers mourned heavily.
