As of 10 a.m. on August 2, 5 farm workers who were in direct contact with sick animals were diagnosed with cutaneous anthrax, with mild symptoms, and all of them have been isolated and treated.
According to the China Disease Control and Prevention News, anthrax is a zoonotic infectious disease caused by Bacillus anthracis, which mainly occurs in cattle, sheep and other herbivores, and humans are mainly infected through contact with diseased animals or animal products. The key groups of anthrax are mainly professionals engaged in cattle, sheep and livestock breeding, slaughtering and trafficking of related products, as well as engaged in fur processing.
