As of July 31, the first month of summer transportation, Guangzhou Railway Group sent 59.214 million passengers, an increase of 490,000 passengers year-on-year, a year-on-year increase of 0.8%, and an average of 1.91 million passengers per day, and the overall orderly travel of passengers.
According to the relevant person in charge of the passenger transport department of Guangzhou Railway Group, in late July, although affected by bad weather such as typhoons and heavy rains such as "Paibian" and "Gemei", the demand for passenger travel is still strong. From July 22 to July 31, Guangzhou Railway Group sent an average of 1.795 million passengers per day. Through scientific research and judgment, Guangzhou Railway Group dynamically optimizes and adjusts train operations to meet the needs of passengers. In the first month of summer transportation, there were an average of 2,854 passenger trains per day, an increase of 93 trains year-on-year, a year-on-year increase of 7%.
From the perspective of travel data, Guangdong sent 37.51 million passengers, accounting for 63.3%, and the willingness to travel was the strongest; Hunan sent 18.81 million passengers; Hainan sent 2.52 million passengers. The top three stations for sending passengers are Guangzhou South Railway Station, Shenzhen North Railway Station and Changsha South Railway Station, with 9.26 million passengers, 6.13 million passengers and 5.69 million passengers respectively. The Guangzhou-Shantou section of the Ningbo-Guangzhou high-speed railway, which opened for operation last year, has a relatively bright passenger delivery data, with 1.79 million passengers sent in the first month of summer transportation.
Since the beginning of the summer season, the passenger flow has continued to run at a high level. Waitlist data shows that the popular ranges this weekend are Shenzhen North - Guangzhou South, Shenzhen North - Chaoshan, Guangzhou South - Changsha South, etc.
To this end, Guangzhou Railway Group plans to open 294 additional passenger trains from August 2 to August 4, mainly in the direction of Shenzhen north to Changsha south and Chaoshan, and Guangzhou south to Zhanjiang west, Chaoshan and Changsha south. For specific train information, passengers can pay attention to the station announcement or check on the 12306 website (including APP).
In order to actively cope with the hot weather in the summer, Guangzhou Railway Group has increased the inspection and maintenance of the air-conditioning equipment in the waiting room of the station. Changsha Station is equipped with 2 air curtain machines, 3 wall-mounted air conditioners and 2 air conditioning fans in the third waiting room to provide a comfortable waiting environment for passengers. Guangzhou South Railway Station, Shenzhen North Railway Station, Changsha South Railway Station, and Xiangtan Railway Station joint equipment maintenance units have renovated the air conditioning in advance, bringing a little coolness to passengers traveling in summer.
In order to cope with the large flow of passengers in the summer, Guangzhou South Railway Station, Shenzhen North Railway Station, Changsha South Railway Station and Changsha Railway Station arranged young volunteers to provide consultation and guidance for passengers, and volunteer services such as bringing the elderly and supporting children at busy passenger transport positions such as arrivals, passenger service centers and exits.

During the summer travel period, the passenger flow continues to be high, please carefully check the ticket information when traveling, plan in advance, reserve sufficient time for the city traffic, entry security check and other links, do not "pinch points" to travel, pay attention to safety during the journey, carry personal belongings with you, and avoid loss.
