Recently, the Chinese herbal medicine association issued the "Proposal on Prohibiting the Price of Chinese Herbal Medicines", which mentioned: "At present, under the influence of social capital, some Chinese herbal medicine practitioners have formed an alliance, and strange goods can live, resulting in abnormal fluctuations in the prices of some Chinese herbal medicines, which have seriously exceeded the historical price. "Perennial 20 yuan/kg to 40 yuan/kg peony skin, now the market price has been called more than 120 yuan/kg, atractylodes this perennial 20 yuan/kg to 30 yuan/kg of medicinal materials, the current price has also exceeded 150 yuan/kg. In Bozhou, the world's largest trading center for Chinese herbal medicines, a buyer, Lao Xu, told reporters that the prices of Chinese herbal medicines in the past two years can be described as "outrageous", especially "three white and one black" (atractylodes, white peony, angelica and peony bark). "Atractylodes macrocephalus 37 yuan/kg, white peony 24 yuan/kg......" approached the shop of another buyer, Lao Liu, and what caught his eye was the price list written at the door. That's last year's price. Lao Liu shook his head, "Two weeks ago, Atractylodes was still sold for 150 yuan and 160 yuan a kilogram, but now it has risen to 180 yuan and 190 yuan per kilogram. If you want it now, I'll give you 180 yuan per kilogram, but it won't be available until a week. According to him, waterlogging caused by heavy rain is the main reason for this round of price increases. In July this year, the Central Plains suffered heavy rains, and the atractylodes planting areas in Bozhou, Anhui, Taihe, and Shenqiu, Henan suffered varying degrees of waterlogging. Some plots of land are seriously waterlogged, and the growth of Atractylodes macrocephalus has been seriously affected, and some growers have dug in advance to reduce losses. A person close to the local Chinese herbal medicine association also told reporters that in the past few years, peony peel (black danpi) was mostly more than 10 yuan or 20 yuan per kilogram, and the better one was 30 yuan, which led to the beginning of the planting area to shrink. Today, peony peel has broken through the 100 yuan per kilogram mark, and the market supply is tight, and it is difficult to replenish in the short term. Similar to the price of atractylodes and peony skin, the "myth" of skyrocketing is not uncommon in the entire Chinese herbal medicine market. According to the data of the Chinese herbal medicine world, there are more than 60 Chinese herbal medicines (including different specifications of the same variety) with an annual price increase of more than 100%, and even more varieties with an annual increase of tens of percent.
