In order to strengthen the education of minors in loving the Party and patriotism, broaden the horizons of children in distress and left-behind children, so that children in distress and left-behind can feel the care of society and enhance their self-confidence. On July 30, 2024, on the occasion of the August 1st Army Day, with the support of the Xiangzhou District Civil Affairs Bureau, the Xiangzhou District Homeless Begging Service Center (District Uninsured Center) joined hands with Xiangzhou District Social Welfare Institute, Longwang Town Civil Affairs Office, Minfu Social Worker, "Guardian Childhood" volunteer team and other professional social forces to carry out the "Pursuing Red Footprints and Building Youth Dreams Together" outing activity for more than 20 distressed and left-behind children in Longwang Town.
On the morning of the 30th, under the leadership of the uninsured workers, more than 20 children walked into the collection hall to follow the red footprints. In the Red Memory Collection, the children listened carefully to the narrator's story of the revolution that once happened in Xiangyang. During the period of the New Democratic Revolution, a number of revolutionary predecessors such as Xiao Chunu, Cheng Kesheng, and Xie Yuanding emerged in Xiangyang, who were willing to throw away their heads and shed their blood for the sake of national independence and the liberation of the people, and dedicated everything they had to the motherland and the people.
In the exhibition area of the Red Army's Long March, there are military uniforms, broadswords, spears, guns and other items used by the Red Army, and the precious historical pictures on the walls and the rich old objects in the display cabinets quietly tell the children about the history of the past. The children watched as they walked and asked questions to the teacher from time to time. In the collection area after the founding of the People's Republic of China, there are old televisions, tape recorders, telephones, flashlights, porcelain basins, food stamps and other items on display.
"When I came to the Red Memory Collection today, I gained a lot, saw a lot of historical pictures and objects that I had never seen before, and gained a lot of knowledge; Listening to the revolutionary stories told by the narrator, I was deeply moved by the spirit of the revolutionary predecessors who were not afraid to sacrifice for their ideals," said a child.
On the afternoon of the 30th, under the leadership of the uninsured workers, the children visited the eight functional rooms of the Xiangzhou District Juvenile Protection Center one by one and experienced the special activities of different functional rooms. Through the systematic learning of children's summer drowning prevention safety knowledge, mental health knowledge, adolescent health education knowledge and other special service content, children's awareness of self-protection has been enhanced. In order to add to the festive atmosphere, the children made intangible cultural heritage bamboo weaving paintings with patriotic themes together, and expressed the children's love for the motherland through the unique paintings compiled.
Finally, the children wrote down their feelings about participating in today's activities on paper, and shared them with the theme of "My Youth Dream".
In this activity, on the one hand, through visiting and learning, the children can understand the glorious deeds and difficult years of the revolutionary predecessors, trace the past and cherish the present, and establish lofty ideals; On the other hand, through the special activities of the function room of the uninsured center, children's awareness of self-protection and social integration ability are enhanced, and the healthy growth of children in difficulty is helped. In the next work, the Xiangzhou District Juvenile Protection Center will continue to give full play to the effectiveness of the uninsured function room and provide more comprehensive and professional services for minors!
