Firm Faith, Rather Than Die- A Review of the Spirit of Red Rock

author:China Jilin Net

"The red plums on the red rock are open, and the frost feet of thousands of miles are stepped on." What is the fear of the severe cold of Sanjiu, a piece of Dan's heart opens to the sun..."

Red Rock is not only a geographical concept, but also a spiritual landmark.

Seventy or eighty years ago, a group of Chinese Communists held a firm conviction in fighting for the truth, held the heroic feeling of sacrificing for the cause of the people's liberation, and with lofty ideological realm and extraordinary political wisdom, bravely fought bravely against the strong enemy in the difficult and complicated environment of the Kuomintang-ruled areas, and forged an immortal spiritual monument.

Do not bend and would rather die than yield

"Torture, that's too small a test. Bamboo sticks are made of bamboo, and the will of communists is steel! In June 1948, due to the betrayal of traitors, underground party member Jiang Zhujun was unfortunately arrested and imprisoned in Chongqing Zhadidong Prison. The Kuomintang agents used all kinds of torture in a vain attempt to open a gap in this young female Communist Party member and sabotage the underground party organization. In the face of severe torture, she has always been unyielding.

On the eve of the liberation of Chongqing in 1949, full of infinite yearning for new China, Jiang Zhujun and other revolutionary heroes made heroic sacrifices.

Chongqing is a land of heroes with a glorious revolutionary tradition. During the stormy years of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Early Stage of the War of Liberation, proletarian revolutionaries, Communists, and revolutionaries of the older generation of the Southern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee influenced many latecomers with lofty ideological realm, firm ideals and convictions, tremendous strength of personality, and great revolutionary righteousness. During the Liberation War, Jiang Zhujun, Chen Ran, and other Communist Party members who grew up under the education and cultivation of the Southern Bureau withstood all kinds of torture and torture, sacrificed their precious lives for the cause of the liberation of the Chinese people, and condensed their blood and lives into a great Red Rock Spirit.

Today, the former site of Zha di Dong Prison has become a patriotic education base, and people come from all over the world to remember the heroic soul and relive history. In the face of the gloomy prison cells and terrible torture devices, people can't help but ask: Life is precious, what makes the martyrs sacrifice their lives and forget their deaths? The price of freedom is higher, what makes the revolutionaries go deep into the tiger's den and sacrifice bloodily?

  The answer is faith!

In the face of the enemy's severe torture, Chen Ran, the special branch secretary of the "Advance Newspaper," wrote "My Confessions" in prison, and he died with his life, fulfilling his solemn oath to the party with his life: "As long as there is still a breath, we will fight for the revolution to the end!" "

"In the face of all difficulties, hold high our banner!" Luo Shiwen and other comrades secretly set up a temporary party branch in prison to lead the victims to wage a resolute struggle against the enemy.

In the Spring Festival of 1949, in the prison of Zha Di Dong, the prisoners sang revolutionary songs and recited the "Communist Manifesto", and the fiery and passionate language was full of philosophical wisdom, so that the light of truth illuminated the spiritual world of every communist.

  ……

Many of these brave and fearless revolutionaries and martyrs who were unfortunate enough to come from wealthy families with no worries about food and clothing. The choice to devote oneself to the revolution and to sacrifice one's life and forget one's death stems from the firm belief in "fighting for the vast majority of the people." Over the past many years, our Party has gone through hardships and tribulations, and has not been crushed by difficulties or overthrown by the enemy. Under the guidance of firm ideals and convictions, revolutionaries stood up in a place of thorns, waged an indomitable struggle against the enemy, and wrote a tragic and brilliant chapter in the spiritual genealogy of the Chinese Communists.

  Rock solid never changes color

In the China Three Gorges Museum in Chongqing, three silver dollars are preserved. Over the years, silver dollars have been covered with traces of age.

In 1941, Xiao Lin, a communist party member, received instructions from the party organization to "go to the sea to do business" at the Chongqing office of the Hongyan Eighth Route Army to raise funds for the party's activities. When the company they started fulfilled their mission, the Xiaolin couple handed over about 120,000 taels of gold balance and fixed assets equivalent to more than 10 million US dollars at one time, leaving only three silver dollars as a souvenir.

These three silver dollars bear witness to the political nature of the Chinese Communist Party members who, under the guidance of the Hongyan spirit, come out of the mud without staining, flow in the same stream and not pollute, and strictly cultivate themselves and always maintain the political nature of loyalty and cleanliness.

The reason why the Hongyan spirit is precious and special is that it was born in the revolutionary practice of the Communist Party of China in the Kuomintang area. At that time, the White Terror was serious, and the party members and comrades were in a special environment and shouldered special tasks, not only to struggle against the enemy, but also to make friends from all walks of life; to strictly obey orders and discipline, but also to exert wisdom and wisdom to deal with complicated situations; to withstand the test of "life and death" at any time, and to face the temptation of a high-ranking official's thick and decadent life.

In the face of all this, how can we maintain our original intention and not lose our color?

Discipline constrains the behavior of ordinary people; and faith and character allow people to stick to their true colors when they lack external constraints.

In March 1943, on the 45th birthday of the lunar calendar, Zhou Enlai wrote down the "Rules for My Cultivation"--including 7 articles, including "Work hard, have a plan, have a focus, and be organized", "Never isolate yourself from the masses", and "Specifically correct your shortcomings". Responsibility, value pursuit, spiritual outlook, political character... The proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation of the Southern Bureau have left behind many precious legacies of spiritual character.

The "Eight Articles in Prison", which were distilled and summarized according to the opinions of the Hongyan martyrs in prison, have a strong practical guidance to this day. These precious disciplines are the loyalty of revolutionaries written in blood, one of the answers left for future generations to find out "why the Chinese Communist Party can", and also a warning record of the Chinese Communist Party's self-purification, self-improvement, self-innovation, and self-improvement.

Remember the spirit and always move forward

General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized: "Only when we can stand firm and steady spiritually, can a nation stand firm in the torrent of history and stand at the head of the tide." "

Whether it is the bloody struggle in the years of beacon fire or the selfless dedication in the era of peace, the generations of heroes and sons and daughters have experienced many ups and downs and how many sacrifices have been made to pave the way for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation from suffering to glory. Their backbone stands tall against the heavens; their deeds are mighty mountains and rivers; their spirit illuminates the future.

Today, under the banner of communist faith and inspired by the spirit of Hongyan, more and more people are making choices without regrets.

Rooted in the frontline of frontier education for more than 40 years, teacher Zhang Guimei helped more than 1,800 girls enter the university and get out of the mountains. She said: "Sister Jiang is my lifelong role model, and my favorite song is "Red Meizan". "

Mao Xianglin, a national model for poverty alleviation and secretary of the party branch of Zhuxian Township in Wushan County, Chongqing City, led the villagers to carve out a mountain road on the cliff for 7 years in order to break the fate of generations of closed mountains, poured 15 years of time, and led the villagers to become rich.

On the frontline of the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, Pan Jiming, a police officer at the Fengwen Police Station of the Shapingba District Bureau of the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau, who has been fighting for more than 20 consecutive days, died of a sudden illness at the age of 51. The veteran party member used his life to interpret the oath at the police induction ceremony: "Under the guidance of the spirit of Hongyan, we will dedicate ourselves to the safety and loyalty of the people and do our best!" "

If people do not have spirit, they will not stand, and if the country does not have spirit, it will not be strong. Revolutionary heroes and models of the times have written deeds with loyalty, sweat, and even life, always reminding us of "where we come from and where to go", encouraging us not to forget our original intentions, keep in mind the mission, and let the red gene integrate into the blood.

Great times require great spirits. We must vigorously inherit and carry forward the spirit of Hongyan, let the red gene live endlessly and be passed on from generation to generation, let the precious spirit illuminate the way forward, and always maintain the spirit of never slacking off and the attitude of indomitable struggle, we will certainly be able to stand up in the torrent of the times and move forward courageously.
