The flying snow shoots the white deer in the sky, and the smiling book god leans on the blue duck. Coupled with the short martial arts novel "Yue Nu Sword", Jin Yong wrote a total of 15 classics.
However, for martial arts fans, 15 novels are too few. Indeed, Jin Yong's martial arts novels are gripping and never tired of reading, and we, as readers, can't wait for Mr. Jin Yong to write more martial arts works.
Unfortunately, Jin Yong announced the closure of his pen after writing "The Legend of Deer and Ding" in 1969, and Jin Yong also passed away on October 30, 2018.
Throughout Jin Yong's complete works, it is the most fantasy and magical and the most heart-wrenching "Dragon Babu", why didn't Jin Yong write a "Legend of the Dragon Queen"?
1. Regrets
"Tianlong Babu" uses the real late Northern Song Dynasty as a blueprint to tell the wonderful stories of the three protagonists Xiao Feng, Duan Yu, and Xuzhu. Many historical figures emerged throughout the book, and Jin Yong skillfully made them collide fiercely with fictional martial arts masters, and then there were many happy enmities, love and hate entanglements.
At the end of the story, Xiao Feng died in Yanmen Pass by suicide in order to resolve the war between the Liao and Song dynasties. With Xiao Feng's tragic departure, this martial arts masterpiece with ups and downs also came to an end.
However, Duan Yu and Xu Zhu are both in their early twenties, and they are in the year of fighting. Why didn't Jin Yong continue to write "Dragon Babu" and tell the follow-up stories of Duan Yu and Xuzhu?
Second, the descendants of the dragon
Of course, the continuation of "Dragon Babu" is not something that the author made out of nothing, just because Jin Yong released a new revised series in his later years. Under Jin Yong's changes, "Dragon Babu" can echo "Condor Trilogy".
For example, in the newly revised version of "The Legend of the Condor Heroes", Jin Yong wrote: During the Northern Song Dynasty, Xiao Feng, the leader of the beggar gang, invited the heroes of the world to fight, and very few people could stop him in three moves and two styles. At that time, there were a total of 'twenty-eight palms of the dragon', and then Xiao Feng and his brother Xuzhuzi deleted the complicated and simplified, took the essence and used the macro, and changed it to the eighteen palms of the dragon, and the palm power was thicker. This palm technique was passed to Hong Qigong, and it was displayed when discussing the sword with Wang Chongyang, Huang Yaoshi and others at the top of Huashan, and Wang Chongyang and others were all praised.
It can be seen that although "Dragon Babu" was written later than "The Legend of the Condor Heroes", Jin Yong's implication is very obvious, and he tries to connect "Dragon Babu" and "Condor Trilogy" together.
However, even if there are changes to the newly revised series, the Tianlong era is still almost a hundred years away from the Condor era, why don't Jin Yong write a "Legend of the Heavenly Dragon"? With Jin Yong's knowledge and unbridled imagination, "The Legend of the Dragon Queen" will inevitably cause a sensation in the Chinese circle again and attract countless readers.
In fact, if Jin Yong really continues to write "Dragon Babu", the following masters will make Jin Yong have no way to start.
3. Which masters?
As mentioned earlier, most of Jin Yong's novels follow real history. If there is "The Legend of the Heavenly Dragon", this martial arts work is bound to be unable to bypass the Northern Song Emperor Song Huizong.
With Song Huizong, there is Fang La of the Demon Sect. With Fang La, there are 108 heroes of Shuibo Liangshan.
For example, in "Heaven and Dragon Slayer", Jin Yong said through Zhang Sanfeng: "The rules of people in the Demon Sect are extremely strict, and they abstain from eating meat and fish, which has been the case since the Tang Dynasty. At the end of the Northern Song Dynasty, Fang La, the great leader of the Ming Sect, started an incident in eastern Zhejiang, and the officials and people called it 'the Demon Sect of Eating Vegetables' at that time. Eating food and serving the demon king are the two major laws of the Demon Sect, which have been passed down for hundreds of years. Since the Song Dynasty, the government has been extremely strict with the Demon Sect, and the people in the martial arts have also discriminated against it, so the Demon Cult disciples act secretively, abide by the rules and eat vegetarians, but they pretend to worship the Buddha and worship the Bodhisattva to outsiders, and dare not reveal their identities. ”
And readers who have carefully read "The Condor Trilogy" may remember that Jin Yong mentioned the heroes of Liangshan many times in the book. For example, in the Niujia Village Tavern, Jin Yong said to Guo Xiaotian and Yang Tiexin through the shopkeeper Erqu San: "Brother Guo, you are the descendant of Guo Sheng, the good man of Liangshanbo, and you are a descendant of the star Sairengui Guo Sheng. Brother Yang, your ancestor Yang Zaixing is a famous general under Grandpa Yue. After the two of you were loyal, the north fell, and the two of you were in the rivers and lakes, and then they made friends with each other, married Jinlan, and moved to Niujia Village to live together. Yes and no? ”
And when Huang Rong used the dog-beating stick method to fight with the elders of the beggar gang, the staff method used by the elder of the beggar gang was Lu Zhishen's crazy wand method.
As the villain of the Condor Era, Liang Ziweng's martial arts are actually Yanqing boxing; In "The Legend of Deer and Ding", the second of the three heroic moves created by Hong Antong, "Luda pulling willows", also originated from Lu Zhishen's upside down weeping willows.
Coincidentally, Li Xihua in "The Legend of Deer and Ding" also performed a Yanqing martial arts. It is written in the book that Li Xihua suddenly shrank his hands and feet, rolled one by one, and rolled straight to the enemy's feet, the tip of the sword was slanted upward, and he had pointed at Li Zicheng's lower abdomen, and shouted: "Are you still alive today?" This trick "Lying Cloud Turning", according to legend, is a trick handed down by Yan Qing, the prodigal son of Liangshan Bo in the Song Dynasty, a small skill, extremely fast......
Seeing this, it seems to be understandable why Jin Yong didn't continue to write "Dragon Babu".
First of all, if there is really "The Legend of the Heavenly Dragon", how should Jin Yong create Liangshan 108 heroes? Just because "Water Margin" is a treasure of classical Chinese literature, it is one of the four famous novels, and the characters and temperament of the 108 heroes in the book are deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. How can 108 heroes be turned into martial arts?
This undoubtedly requires a considerable amount of effort, and if it is not shaped well, it will inevitably provoke criticism from readers. If the characters created are the same as "Water Margin", Jin Yong is worried that Jiang Lang will be said to be exhausted, so he needs to plagiarize the characters in "Water Margin".
Rather than make yourself miserable, it is better to announce the closure of the pen. This is the main reason why Jin Yong is reluctant to write "The Legend of the Heavenly Dragon". Heroes, what do you think?
