Province is a first-class administrative region of Korea. Jeollabuk-do and Jeollanam-do provinces are located in the southwestern part of Korea.
1. Jeollabuk-do
It is bordered by the Yellow Sea to the west. The area is 8058k㎡. It has jurisdiction over 3 cities and 13 counties. It has a population of more than 2 million. The capital is the whole state.
The terrain is high in the east and low in the west, with the Luling Mountains in the center, the Xiaobai Mountains in the east, and the Hunan Plain in the west. The climate is mild with rainy summers.
There are few underground resources. Agriculture is developed, producing rice, wheat, cotton, fruits, vegetables, etc. The Hunan rice produced is famous in Korea. There are textile (silk, cotton), food, tobacco, paper and other industries.
The main port city is the mountains.
2. South Jeollanam-do
The western part of Jeollanam-do Province and the southern part of the multi-island sea. The area is 12083k㎡. It has jurisdiction over 4 cities and 22 counties. It has a population of more than 4 million. The capital is Gwangju.
The terrain is high in the north and low in the south, most of which are entrenched in the Luling and Xiaobai Mountains, and the western coast is a plain. The climate is mild and rainy. There are small amounts of copper, lead, and zinc ores.
The economy is dominated by agriculture, rich in rice, wheat, cotton, fruits, as well as bamboo and tea. The industry is centered on hydropower, the textile industry is developed, and there are also oil refining, chemical, fertilizer and other sectors.
The main port cities are Yeosu, Mokpo, and Suncheon.
