Common scams for college entrance examination admissions

01 Forge the admission letter

Fraudsters pretend to be college admissions office staff, send fake admission notices to candidates, send relevant admission text messages, and even fake admissions websites to trick candidates into transferring tuition and miscellaneous fees to designated bank accounts, or obtain personal privacy information for other reasons, and then defraud money.

02 "Suspected cheating" text message

The fraudsters sent a text message saying that they found that the candidate was suspected of cheating during the replay of the surveillance video in the examination room, and that the candidate's college entrance examination results would be cancelled, and asked to leave a phone number in the text message for consultation and confirmation. After making the call, the fraudsters will extract information step by step, induce them to click on the URL link or download the APP, and ask for the payment of fees or deposits, etc., and finally let the candidates and parents transfer money and cause property losses.

03Receive education subsidies

Fraudsters often pretend to be staff of education, finance, colleges and universities and other departments, mainly on the grounds of issuing grants to candidates, reducing tuition fees, and applying for student loans, and defraud candidates' ID cards, bank card numbers, verification codes and other information, and then commit fraud.

01 Candidates and parents should look for the "official website" logo, confirm the admission information through the official release and certification website, pay attention to screening when receiving the admission notice information, do not open the website link from unknown sources, and do not easily transfer money without verifying the authenticity of the account.

02 If candidates or parents receive calls and messages about grants and student loans, please be sure to contact the education department or the school for confirmation, and do not trust strange calls and leak personal information, which will be used by fraudsters to commit fraud.

03There is a strict workflow for college admissions, there is no so-called "internal enrollment", "special indicators" and "spending money to guarantee", and the formal recruitment process will not generate any additional costs. Candidates and parents should understand and confirm the examination enrollment policies and information from formal channels.
