Chevrolet has officially unveiled the all-new Corvette ZR1, a car that is impressively powerful. The GM-owned brand announced Thursday that the Corvette ZR1 Roadster, which will be launched in 2025, will deliver a staggering 1,064 horsepower. That power comes from its 5.5-liter "twin-turbocharged DOHC planar crankshaft V8 engine," which Chevrolet calls "the most powerful V8 engine a United States automaker has ever produced." In addition, the model will demonstrate "the maximum power that the factory Corvette can provide," according to the brand.
Expect performance and production
Although Chevrolet has yet to announce an official price for the ZR1, Car & Driving estimates a starting MSRP of around $180,000. According to Chevrolet's report, the car is expected to reach an astonishing top speed of over 215 mph in track testing. Production of the sports car is expected to begin next year at GM's Boleyn Green assembly plant in Kentucky, which also produces the Corvette Stingray, Z06 and E-Ray.

Chevrolet emphasizes that "the Corvette ZR1 is about pushing the boundaries with raw power and cutting-edge innovation," according to Chevrolet's Scott · Bell. With each new generation – from Stimray to Z06, E-Ray, and now the ZR1 – the Corvette family continues to raise the bar and compete with the top names in the automotive world. When the ZR1 is released, customers will have the opportunity to choose between a coupe and a convertible, and a ZTK performance package will be available, which Chevrolet claims will "unlock real track weapons." The all-new ZR1 will also feature vibrant colors such as Race Yellow, Frenzy Purple and Seblin Orange, as well as a variety of interior and exterior customization options. Notably, the Corvette's signature feature, the split window, will be reproduced in this model.
