Mark Kern, the former head of the World of Warcraft team, today posted a message calling on players to boycott Ubisoft's other "politically correct" game, Star Wars: Outlaws, which will be released on August 30.
"I know everybody's all eyes on Assassin's Creed: Shadows right now, but there's one more politically correct game that's coming out on August 30th, and that's Star Wars: Outlaws. It's a triple-A game with terrible AI, mediocre gameplay, and a Ubisoft-style monetization model. This is a game we need to pay attention to in the near future, don't buy it, spread it and let Ubisoft's stock price take a hit. ”
At present, the actual gameplay video of "Star Wars: Outlaws" has been leaked. During a recent earnings call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said the game had the highest marketing budget of any game they've launched to date.
