Zhang Kaiyin was born on March 3, 1987 in Yucheng County, Shangqiu City, Henan Province. In 2000, the 13-year-old Zhang Kaiyin studied martial arts routines at a martial arts school in Shangqiu, and two years of traditional martial arts training created his outstanding basic skills and coordination; at the age of 15, Zhang Kaiyin transferred to sanda; in 2003, Zhang Kaiyin won the 5th place in sanda at the Fifth National City Games, and then entered the Tagou Martial Arts School to learn from the head coach Liu Haike.
