On the afternoon of the 23rd, Mr. Zheng, the person in charge of the zoo where the incident occurred, told reporters that he had lived in the zoo for a long time. At about 11:45 p.m. on the evening of the 21st, before going to bed, he went to check the animal cage and saw that in the iron cage where four pythons were kept, there was a python wandering around the door of the cage. At about 6 o'clock in the morning of the 22nd, he found that the python was gone, and there were only three left in the cage. "There is a gap three or four centimeters wide in the iron cage door, and the python will shrink its bones, so it should have escaped from the gap."

Mr. Zheng said that the escaped python, which he has been raising since he was born, has been raising it for more than ten years, about two or three meters long, with an adult's thick arm and weighing more than ten pounds. "This is not the first time I have escaped, I ran out for more than a week, probably because I couldn't find food, and it ran back again."

Mr. Zheng said that after the python escaped, he immediately organized personnel to search for it in Zhongshan Park, but so far it has not been found. He was worried that residents would panic after encountering the python, so he reported it to the police, and if citizens found the snake, they could call the police directly on 110. "Several entrances to Zhongshan Park have been posted with warm reminders that citizens are not allowed to enter." Mr. Zheng said.

A staff member of the Silla District Forestry Bureau said that the escaped python would not take the initiative to attack people, and it was not poisonous, and the public security department was searching. The staff member said that the escape of the python shows that the zoo's management of wild animals is not in place, and the management of Zhongshan Park, the Xinluo District Forestry Bureau and the Longyan Forestry Bureau are discussing the zoo's rectification plan.

The relevant staff of the Longyan Forestry Bureau said that the zoo was a private zoo in Zhongshan Park, Xinluo District, and the park management had reported the matter to the Public Security Bureau and the Forestry Bureau after the incident, and the public could call the police if they found a python.
