Look at you as a smart person!
When I bought the bed, the salesperson's eldest sister praised me. When I decided to buy a 1.5m bed, my eldest sister kept saying that I was a smart person: she said that most people nowadays would choose 1.8m, and there are not many people who know how to make trade-offs.
I chose 1.5m, not because my bedroom is small, but because I know the difference between the two types of beds.
Difference 1. Visual difference
Don't look at the difference between 1.5m and 1.8m, which is only 20cm, but its length is 2m - plus the head and foot of the bed is even longer. In fact, the two beds are at least 0.4 square meters apart in area.
You should understand this:
The 1.8m bed is placed in the bedroom, and the room will look very crowded.
It is precisely because of this that in the model rooms of those sales departments or decoration companies, 1.5m beds will be placed in the bedrooms. This not only makes the bedroom feel spacious, but also brightens the overall light.
Difference 2. Use difference
The bed is to be used, and the two types of beds are also different in terms of use:
• 1.8m bed for a more comfortable sleep. But it depends on how to sleep, if two people lie on the bed, or even a small baby in the middle, it must be 1.8m more comfortable. But if there is only one person sleeping, it is more suitable for 1.5m.
The bed is small, on the one hand, it can bring people a sense of security; On the other hand, it can make people develop the habit of sleeping correctly and avoid sleeping posture on all fours. My house is for children, so I chose 1.5m directly.
• The 1.5m bed is a lot lighter than the 1.8m one. I bought a bed with a bed box, so I need to lift the mattress up often. Even with a hydraulic rod, it takes a lot of effort to lift a 1.8m mattress.
In addition, there are some users who need to move frequently. At that time, 1.8m will bring more difficulties, not to mention the door, and sometimes even the elevator can't get in. 1.5m is not only convenient to enter and exit, but also saves a lot of effort in handling.
Difference 3. Spatial difference
Whether you live in a small apartment or a large villa, the size of the bedrooms inside is about the same – generally around 15 square meters. This kind of bedroom is a bit small compared to the previous years.
So you can often see this design ▽
The bedside table is missing because the door cannot be opened after the bedside table is placed. Otherwise, it's this kind of design▽
Make the cabinet door into two sections, and the lower one is closed all year round. The purpose is also to solve the problem of "the bedside table blocking the cabinet door".
But neither design seemed perfect to me, and whether it was a nightstand or a half-door was a sacrifice in terms of storage space. If you want to solve this problem at the root, there is only one way:
Buy a small 30cm bed and leave plenty of room on the sides.
— Which one should I choose? —
Having said all that, how wide should you choose a bed? My suggestion is to divide the situation:
• If you buy a bed that sleeps only one person all year round, it is more recommended to choose a 1.5m one.
• If the bed you bought is idle all year round, and you will only use it when a friend comes, then you should choose 1.5m.
• If you need to sleep two people in your bed, it is recommended to choose a 1.8m bedroom, no matter how small the bedroom is.
In addition to the 1.5m and 1.8m, there are several special sizes of double beds on the market. For example, 2.0m, 1.6m, etc. None of these special size beds are recommended to choose:
Because 1.5m and 1.8m are standard sizes, all mattresses, sheets, etc. are produced according to these two sizes. The rest of the sizes are special sizes, and you may have some difficulties when buying bedding.
"PS: If you are a local tyrant and can accept high-priced custom bedding, then I didn't say this."
