United States drew a red line for China, and China and the Philippines reached a supply agreement at Ren'ai Jiao. This news makes people look a little confused.
The struggle between China and the Philippines has entered a white-hot stage surrounding the landing ship "Sierra Madre," which is illegally beached at Ren'ai Jiao, but recently there has been news from the Philippines that China and the Philippines have reached an agreement of understanding on the supply of the warship, and the situation in the South China Sea seems to have eased somewhat.
According to US media reports, United States national security adviser Jake · Sullivan said that United States will "take all necessary measures" to ensure that the Philippines can provide supplies to the officers and soldiers of the warships "beached" at Ren'ai Jiao!United States
In response to China's resolute attitude, United States officials have drawn two red lines for the Chinese side, and United States officials have drawn two bottom lines, the first line is to United States to provoke China's sovereignty, support the Philippines in transporting supplies, try to complicate the Ren'ai Jiao issue, attempt to send ships to rush into the waters of Ren'ai Jiao, and attempt to transport construction materials, weapons and ammunition to the so-called "beached" warships, in an attempt to create the fact of the established occupation.
The second is that after the outbreak of the recent Ren'ai Jiao conflict, the Philippines did not take advantage, and the United States, as the backer behind the Philippines, did not send US troops to assist in defense, but only said some words condemning China, which made the Philippines dissatisfied, and the Philippines believed that such a backer was unreliable. Now the United States is again saying that it is ready to send US troops into battle on the basis of the "US-Philippines Mutual Defense Treaty" to embolden the Philippines.
But on July 21, media reported that China and the Philippines had reached a temporary détente agreement, a memorandum of understanding on the provision of daily necessities and personnel rotation for the Sierra Madre. The two sides recognize the need to de-escalate the situation in the South China Sea, but the agreement does not affect the inherent positions of the two countries in the South China Sea.
In this regard, China has expressed three principled positions:
First, the Philippines has violated China's sovereignty by sending a "warship" to "beach" at Ren'ai Jiao for a long time, violating the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea.
Second, if the Philippines needs to provide daily necessities to the ship's occupants before the Philippines tows away the beached warship, China is willing to allow the Philippine side to carry out the transportation and replenishment on humanitarian grounds, after informing the Chinese side in advance and conducting on-site verification, and the Chinese side will monitor the whole process.
Third, if the Philippines transports a large amount of building materials to the ship and tries to build fixed facilities and permanent outposts, China will never accept it and will resolutely block it in accordance with laws and regulations, so as to safeguard China's sovereignty and the seriousness of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea.
Based on the above three principled positions, a temporary arrangement was reached on the transportation and replenishment of humanitarian daily necessities. The two sides agreed to jointly manage maritime differences and de-escalate the situation in the South China Sea.
Judging from the statements of all parties, this provisional agreement is not a satisfactory result, and it has been rejected by the Philippine side and disrupted by the United States. This means that the Philippines relies on the backer of United States, and although it has made some concessions, it still refuses to "admit instigation." However, China has sovereignty over Nanhai Zhudao, and there is no territorial dispute between China and the Philippines in the South China Sea.
And in the United States facing an election, the two parties are seriously torn, and Biden has just announced his withdrawal, how long this agreement can last seems to have many variables and unknowns.
At present, it is difficult to grasp the intention of the public statements of the two sides, and to be honest, for analysts from all walks of life, the above agreement is confusing. Knowing that this thing has little restraining effect, it may also be that the two sides, especially the Chinese side, have shown a great power demeanor and deliberately slowed down and cooled down the tense situation when they are about to reach the point of conflict.
At present, for the sake of the overall situation, China mainly considers ASEAN, otherwise the Philippines will ignore him, and the United States and the European Union will decouple and break the chain sooner or later, ASEAN is our largest trading partner,
Now that Biden is out, Trump is a businessman and advocates United States contraction, Zelensky has already understood, and will immediately send the foreign minister to visit China, and Marcos should soon understand!
Although this is a bit bizarre, there is a famous saying in China that if someone deliberately wants to regard China as an adversary, then we should be a qualified adversary!
