Since ancient times, there is no doubt that the islands and reefs within the nine-dash line of the South China Sea are China's territory. But now both the Philippines and Viet Nam are constantly provoking.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry pointed out that it firmly opposes Viet Nam's submission to the United Nations Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf for the South and Overseas Continental Shelf.
Viet Nam unilaterally submitted a submission to the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf on the South China Overseas Continental Shelf, which covers part of China's Nansha Islands and violates China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, violates international law such as the UN Charter and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and violates the agreements signed between China and Vietnam.
What do we need to emphasize with you? Viet Nam's act is an act of provocation. Because if Viet Nam wants to determine its continental shelf, it will inevitably regard these islands and reefs as its own territory. Everyone is well aware of the Nansha islands and reefs, which have been Chinese since ancient times.
Then the reason why Viet Nam occupies so many islands and reefs of China and uses them as the basis for demarcation is itself a gross trampling on China's sovereignty! China has exercised great restraint in the South China Sea, hoping to resolve disputes peacefully in accordance with the consensus reached in the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea, or at least to put aside disputes and develop them together.
Viet Nam, the Philippines and other countries continue to create all kinds of troubles, allowing China's territory to be encroached upon by these countries step by step. China is unwilling to cause more trouble in the South China Sea. This is because we hope that peace is the most important thing and that we can sign the Code of Conduct for all parties in the South China Sea as soon as possible.
But if Viet Nam, the Philippines and other countries continue to create all kinds of right and wrong on the issue of trampling on China's sovereign territory, we can only say that the South China Sea will not be peaceful! Because the South China Sea is about China's core interests, China's development, and China's rise! No sloppiness, no ambiguity! If Viet Nam, the Philippines and other countries continue to escalate on the issue of encroaching on China's territory, then there will inevitably be conflicts in the South China Sea, and more tensions will inevitably appear.
The fault lies with Viet Nam and the Philippines, and it is inevitable that these countries will deeply realize that China is serious. If there is no way to revise history, then reality should not be allowed to repeat itself. In the past, China had some things that we couldn't do on the South China Sea issue, but now we can! Since we can do it, we must keep the wealth left by our ancestors.
