In response to the repeated behavior of the Philippines, China has recently made big moves.

Now that the South China Sea is not peaceful, the Philippines is eyeing the Nansha Islands, picking quarrels and provoking trouble from time to time.
Brawner, a general staff officer of the Philippine military, recently made provocative remarks, claiming that "equal force" would be used in the South China Sea, approving that frontline soldiers could use "equal force" to "defend themselves" in the face of "tough treatment" by the Chinese navy or coast guard.
