Large-scale aquaculture is an important development direction of modern aquaculture, which helps to improve production efficiency, reduce costs and enhance market competitiveness. In 2023, the proportion of large-scale breeding with more than 100 heads in the country will reach 76%, an increase of 4 percentage points year-on-year. Analysts at the China Business Industry Research Institute predict that the scale of dairy farming in China will increase to 79% by 2024.

At present, large-scale farming has become the mainstream trend of the domestic raw milk industry, and enterprises such as Youran Dairy, Modern Animal Husbandry, Australasia Group, Hebei Leyuan Animal Husbandry, and China Shengmu have developed large-scale farming and become the main force of the domestic raw milk industry. In 2023, Youran Dairy ranked first with 3.020 million tons of milk, Modern Dairy ranked second with 2.588 million tons of milk, Australasia Group ranked third with 860,000 tons of milk, Hebei Leyuan Animal Husbandry still ranked fourth with 840,000 tons of milk, and China Shengmu ranked fifth with 719,000 tons of milk.
