Sudden death did not come without warning
Sudden death is the sudden and non-traumatic, unpredictable death of a person who is normally in good health, or appears to be healthy, in a short period of time. Depending on the etiology, it can be divided into sudden cardiac death and non-sudden cardiac death.
According to data from the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, the number of sudden deaths in mainland China is as high as 550,000 every year, and the success rate of sudden death outside hospitals is only about 1%.
From the perspective of inducements, Yao Yan, director and chief physician of the arrhythmia center of Fuwai Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, believes that ischemic heart disease is dominated by coronary heart disease; various myocardial injuries; Excessive nervousness, agitation, and fatigue; and other risk factors such as obesity, smoking, hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, long-term oral contraceptives, and preference for a high-sugar and high-fat diet are all high-risk factors for sudden cardiac death.
In addition, some experts said that even for professional athletes, for young people, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, congenital coronary artery malformation, idiopathic left ventricular hypertrophy, etc., may become potential diseases that induce sudden exercise-induced death.
However, sudden death does not happen without warning.
"Many patients who die suddenly have symptoms within a month before their sudden death." Xu Juntang, chief physician of the Department of Cardiology of Peking University People's Hospital, once told Zhongxin Health that chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitation, dizziness, blackness, and even fainting after activity are all symptoms.
However, experts stress that these symptoms do not have a clear specificity, and it does not mean that the presence of these symptoms means that sudden death will occur.
Take precautions and pay attention to these points on a daily basis
Industry experts believe that hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy are the most common causes of sudden exercise-induced death in people under the age of 35; Coronary artery disease is the main problem in the elderly.
Some experts pointed out that the high-risk patients of sudden death are still due to unhealthy lifestyles.
For the general population, sudden cardiac death can be effectively prevented through a healthy diet and healthy work and rest in daily life, such as avoiding staying up late, eating lightly, exercising moderately, and avoiding overwork and mental stress.
Some high-risk groups with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases should pay attention to whether there are abnormal conditions such as palpitation, bradycardia, syncope, unexplained fatigue, blackness in front of the eyes and numbness of limbs, and regular physical examination and strengthen screening.
