1. Drowning
According to the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention, drowning is one of the more common and serious child safety accidents, and drowning incidents do not only occur in rivers, lakes and seas, but also may occur wherever there is water, such as swimming pools, pools, ditches, ponds, rivers without protective fences, water tanks, bathtubs, etc.

Special Notes:
Parents and schools should educate their children to stay away from unsupervised waters, not to swim or play in unsupervised waters alone or in groups, and not to eat in water;
When accompanied by parents, it is important to fulfill the duty of supervision and do not focus on mobile phones or other matters;
Children should be taught basic swimming and self-rescue techniques, as well as how to recognize warning signs in lakes, rivers and around waters.
2. Road traffic injuries
Wang Quan, director of the intensive care department of Beijing Children's Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University, said that if you travel by car, you must ensure that the vehicle is safe and reliable, avoid fatigue driving, and put an end to drunk driving. When riding in the car, no matter the distance, parents should not hold their children, let alone hold their children to drive. When children are riding in the car, parents should equip and properly use child safety seats, booster cushions or seat belts according to the child's age, height and weight.

Special Notes:
Parents should educate their children to obey traffic rules, walk on zebra crossings, watch traffic lights, etc., and fulfill their responsibilities of caring for and supervising children's road traffic behavior;
Choose safe, stable, and reliable transportation for your child, avoid using illegal and unsafe transportation, and actively use safety seats, seat belts, and helmets.
3. Falls
According to the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention, falls also account for a certain proportion of child safety accidents, and the most common place of occurrence is not outdoors, but at home. Wang Quan said that children are prone to head injuries after falling. The younger the child, the larger the proportion of his or her head to his or her body. Therefore, the younger the child, the more likely it is that the child will suffer a head injury after a fall.

Special Notes:
Parents should promptly remove the debris on the floor and steps that are easy to trip children, such as toys, pleated carpets, wires on the floor, etc., and keep the children's play area bright enough;
Tables and chairs should not be placed on balconies and windows to prevent children from climbing, and protective devices should be installed on windows at home. Keep the floor at home not slippery, and put non-slip mats or non-slip bricks in the bathroom;
Do not wear ill-fitting shoes or excessively long pants for children, and pay attention to cultivating children's correct exercise habits.
Fourth, burns
Children have delicate skin and are more likely to suffer deep burns than adults. Wang Yanni, chief physician of the Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery of Beijing Children's Hospital, said that pediatric burns are mainly small and medium-sized hydrothermal burns, and cold therapy measures should be taken immediately after the scald to prevent heat from continuing to act on the wound and deepening it, and the earlier the cold treatment, the better the effect.
Special Notes:
Parents should be vigilant and keep corrosive items, such as pipe dredging agents, quicklime, ammonia, etc., properly and place them in places that are not easily accessible to children;
After children's skin comes into contact with corrosive substances, they should be rinsed with a large amount of warm water with moderate temperature and low water pressure in time, and parents should not apply red potion, purple potion, sesame oil, toothpaste, etc. Do not tear the blisters and do not apply ice cubes directly, which will not only contaminate the wound, but also affect the doctor's judgment of the injury;
Be wary of a small number of chemicals that can undergo harmful exothermic reactions or produce dangerous by-products after contact with water and therefore cannot be immediately rinsed with water, including dry lime, phenol, and some metals such as potassium and sodium. (Source: Xinhuanet)
