Jiading Wisteria Garden

Because of its abundant wisteria varieties and beautiful "purple waterfall", Jiading wisteria has now become a characteristic tourist attraction in Jiading and even the whole country. Every year during the wisteria blooming season, a large number of tourists rush to see it.
Jiading Wisteria Garden is located in the ancient city of Jiading Bole South Road Huancheng River, the park covers an area of 14,233 square meters, the overall layout not only has the characteristics of Chinese landscape gardens, but also incorporates part of the Japanese gardening style. In 1987, Michio Fujimoto, then mayor of Waki Town, Okayama Prefecture, Japan, visited Jiading, and the two places opened the prelude to friendly exchanges. In 1992, the two sides formally concluded friendly exchange relations. In 1996, the two sides agreed that in order to commemorate the 10th anniversary of friendly exchanges and the 5th anniversary of the establishment of friendly exchange relations, Jiading District would provide land and infrastructure, and Heqi Town would provide wisteria seedlings, and the two sides would jointly build a Jiading Wisteria Garden. On March 19, 1997, Fujimoto Michio brought nearly 100 plants and about 30 different varieties of Japanese long-spike wisteria to Jiading. On February 15, 1998, Michio Fujimoto came to Jiading to renovate the wisteria seedlings, and at the same time planted 50 Somei Yoshino cherry blossom seedlings in the wisteria garden. On April 22, 2000, Jiading Wisteria Garden was officially opened. In 2003, the eastern expansion project of Wisteria Garden was launched, and Michio Fujimoto came to Jiading on February 21 to graft 14 Kumano and 2 Chinese wisteria. Since then, the pattern of the wisteria garden has basically taken shape.
Entering the garden gate is the stone carved morning light wall and flower bed, this wall is designed by the Shanghai Garden Design Institute, called Jiangnan Spring Lai Zhao, showing a busy agricultural scene, full of Chinese characteristics. On the stone of the flower bed garden, there is the handwriting of "Jiading Rattan Park" inscribed by Fujimoto Michio. The 2,500-square-meter wisteria trellis in the park is the main body of the park along the lake and lawn area, and there are seats under the scaffolding. Surrounded by flowers and trees, rockeries are dotted, the overall style is simple and bright, and it looks natural and lively.
In the middle of the park is a pool of water, and the edge is designed in an arc shape, which is flexible and soothing, and is in harmony with the rippled water ripples, which is full of rhythm. The steps on the north bank are also curved, and the platform can be used as a view of the water. Lotus flowers, water lilies are planted in the lake, fish swim leisurely, the reflection of the clear water is experiential, quiet and soft, there are Japanese-style pavilions and huts by the poolside, and the diagonal cross-lake area is erected on the exquisite small bridge, and part of the coastal section is guarded by stone pier iron chains. The pergolas, sketches, roads, flowers and trees in the garden are all centered on the pond and are interdependent, and the tour route is also generated.
Every year, the park carries out a series of themed publicity activities and cultural activities for the Jiading Wisteria Season, and makes full use of the "Love Jiading" WeChat platform, magazines, cultural tourism Jiading Cloud and other publicity platforms to carry out online and offline three-dimensional publicity, promote Wisteria cultural and creative products, improve the brand influence of Jiading Wisteria, and promote the development of the cultural and tourism industry. At the same time, the "Shanghai Jiading" APP and other platforms were used to carry out the live theme activity of "Cloud Appreciation of Wisteria" online, and the beautiful scenery of Jiading Wisteria flowers was displayed through multiple channels.
