"Overseas direct recruitment, easy to get a monthly salary of 30,000 or 40,000 yuan", be careful when encountering such overseas recruitment information. Recently, the Chongchuan District People's Court in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, heard a fraud case involving three companies that defrauded 1,152 victims from all over the country under the guise of "handling overseas labor services and promising high salaries".
Credulous promises 1,152 people fell into the trap of "high wages for migrant workers".
Mr. Zhou, a 57-year-old citizen from Nantong, Jiangsu, saw an advertisement on a short video platform for going abroad for labor services in November 2022, not only did he not have academic requirements, but his monthly salary was not less than 30,000 yuan.
Victim Mr. Zhou: I saw the job brochure on my mobile phone, the salary is 38,000 yuan, and there is a position as a farm driver, which I feel is particularly suitable because I have been driving a car for more than 20 years.
Mr. Zhou was very impressed, so he left his contact number, and soon a self-proclaimed manager of the company called and recommended him for the position of farm driver with a monthly salary of 38,000 yuan.
Victim Mr. Zhou: Pay the registration fee of 2,000 yuan first, and then wait for the invitation letter from abroad, and then pay 13,000 yuan after the invitation letter is sent.
The other party also said that the number of jobs recruited this time was limited, and urged Mr. Zhou to hurry up. At first, Mr. Zhou was a little skeptical. For this reason, he also made a special trip to this company in Beijing. Manager Zhang showed him the company's business license, labor contract, and chat records and videos of some migrant workers who had gone abroad, which made Mr. Zhou completely relieved.
Five days later, Mr. Zhou paid the final payment as required, submitted the household registration book, bank card, passport and other information, and did not wait for the news of going abroad after returning home.
Seeing that half a year had passed, it was only then that Mr. Zhou realized that he might have been deceived and reported the case to the police. After receiving Mr. Zhou's report, the police immediately launched an investigation and found that the company did not have the qualifications to handle labor services abroad. They advertise on search engines and short video platforms, and produce fake labor contracts and chat record videos, and the salesmen use the words to attract customers with low thresholds and high incomes, and many of the "salesmen" also involve two other similar companies.
Jiang Yifei, deputy director of the Third Procuratorate Department of the Chongchuan District People's Procuratorate of Nantong City, Jiangsu: These three companies involved a total of 1,152 victims, and the total amount defrauded was 11.65 million yuan.
