Shanglian: Outside the smoke and rain in Xiangshan
Xiangshan, also known as "Jingyi Garden", is located in Haidian District, Beijing, and is a royal garden with mountain forest characteristics. As a famous place with both natural scenery and cultural heritage, its beauty lies not only in the majesty of the mountain, but also in the different customs shown in the change of seasons.
The word "smoke and rain" adds a bit of poetry and haze to this picture. The fragrant mountains in the misty rain seem to be covered by a layer of light veil, and the distant mountains and near the water are all looming in the rain curtain, adding a bit of ethereal and dreamy.
The word "outside" in this couplet not only refers to the scene outside the smoke and rain, but also implies the artistic conception of detachment from the world and away from the hustle and bustle, which makes people yearn for it, as if they can travel through time and space, and be in the quiet and distant landscape.
Downlink: Lishui falls lace
Lishui, here refers to the section of the Jinsha River that flows into the north of Lijiang Naxi Autonomous County in Yunnan Province, called Lishui, which is famous for its crystal clear water and beautiful scenery on both sides.
The word "falling flowers" adds a bit of sadness and poetry to this quiet and beautiful flowing water. Falling flowers and flowing water have been a common image in the writings of literati and artists since ancient times, which symbolizes the passage of time, the fleeting of youth, and the faint sorrow for the disappearance of beautiful things.
However, in this couplet, the depiction of "falling lace" shows more of a harmonious and tranquil beauty. The falling flowers gently float down the water, accompanied by the flowing water, as if telling an untold story, or enjoying this moment of tranquility and freedom.
On the whole, this couplet takes "Xiangshan" and "Lishui" as the opposite, one mountain and one water, one movement and one stillness, reflecting each other, and jointly constructing a natural landscape that is both magnificent and gentle, hazy and clear.
The "smoke and rain" of the upper link and the "falling lace" of the lower link not only form an ingenious battle on the literal side, but also achieve a high degree of harmony and unity in the artistic conception.
