body

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, in the border union of Lin, Tan, Fei and Yi counties in Lunan (now Cangshan County), almost everyone knew about Wang Zhanniu, but few people knew about his original name Wang Chenggui. Because Wang Chenggui's milk name is "Niu", he is tall, has a big head, is fat, and is a little hunchbacked, looking like a standing cow, so people give him the nickname "Standing Niu". "Station" has the same sound as "Zhan", which may also be to save trouble when written, and later it was written as "Zhanniu". The nickname became louder and louder, and the original name of Wang Chenggui was gradually forgotten.

One

Wang Zhanniu is a native of Yitou Village, District 7, Linyi County, Shandong Province (now Bian Zhuang Town, Cangshan County).

Zheng Shuzhen: The traitor king occupies the bull and his own affairs

His father, Wang Sishu, did not do his job when he was young, and worked as a squad leader (similar to a villager) in Bian Zhuang for many years. Sometimes he invited an opera troupe to sing and sing, and he also made some money from it.

Wang Sishu has such a son as Wang Chenggui, who is pampered and does not teach him to read and write, nor does he let him farm and work. Under the influence of his father, Wang Chenggui has been working hard since he was a child, picking quarrels and provoking troubles all day long, making his neighbors reluctant to be peaceful. When he was a young man, he became a bandit and was discovered by the Zeng government. Fearing that he would be arrested and imprisoned, he fled from his hometown alone and wandered around Shenyang. After the fall of Northeast China, he returned to his hometown via Dalian and Qingdao. At home, I am still the same, forming an alliance with the bandits in the Tancheng area, robbing everywhere, and doing all kinds of evil. Later, he was arrested by the Tancheng County Government and imprisoned. Because Wang Zhanniu was from Linyi, Tancheng County sent him to Linyi County and continued to be held in prison. His father, Wang Sishu, had worked in the Family Protection Bureau for many years and made some friends, so he ran around, made some money, asked people to intercede, and finally released Wang Zhanniu on bail and returned home. Later, he opened a small restaurant in Bian Zhuang Town and made a living selling food.

After the July 7 Incident in 1937, the Japanese army invaded the south on a large scale. In early 1938, it approached Shandong. In April, a brigade of more than 1,000 Japanese troops invaded and occupied the area of Bian Zhuang and Xiangcheng. In May, most of the Japanese invaders withdrew, leaving a squadron stationed in Bian Zhuang and a small team stationed in Zhu Village, which were the first two strongholds set up by the Japanese in this area. Because Wang Zhanniu learned a few words of Japanese during his escape in the Northeast, at first he led the way for the devils who crossed the border from Linyi to Zaozhuang, and received a few dollars each time, and later after the introduction of his friend Zhao Jingheng (a native of Fangqian Village, a traitor), he defected to the Japanese consultant Kawamoto Dingxiong stationed in Linyi in the winter of 1938, and began his life as a traitor at the age of 50. Soon, he became the head of the seventh district of the puppet Linyi County, and the district belonged to a squadron of traitors. Song Zhenting acted as the squadron leader and became Wang Zhanniu's right-hand man.

Wang Zhanniu actively recruited troops and horses to expand the armed forces of the puppet army, and in a short time it grew from more than 100 people to more than 300 people, and was appreciated by his master, Kawamoto Dingxiong, and in early 1941 he was promoted to the head of the Linyi County Garrison Brigade and the head of the Linyi Seventh District. At this time, he already had three squadrons under his command, the first squadron leader Guo Junjie, the second squadron leader Hu Buyun, and the third squadron leader Song Zhenting. At the beginning of 1942, Wang Zhanniu was promoted to the first captain of the Yin Suppression Communist Party of Linyi Province, Shandong. Wang Zhanniu's official fortune was prosperous, and he was promoted step by step, from opening a restaurant to a figure who was a hot one.

Two

When Wang Zhanniu was a traitor (note: sic), it was also the most brutal period when the Japanese invaders massacred the people in Lunan. In 1939, the Japanese invaders put forward the new task of "securing the military base for the war in North China and Greater East Asia" and began to carry out the campaign of "strengthening public order." After 1940, the Japanese troops in Linyi, Zaozhuang, Lanling, Bianzhuang, and other places, in collusion with the Kuomintang reactionaries, carried out an "iron wall encirclement" of the revolutionary base areas in southern Lunan Province, and used military, political, economic, cultural, and spy means to frantically encroach and "sweep" the border areas, wantonly slaughter the revolutionaries and the masses, and adopt the measures of building blockhouses and strongholds, establishing a puppet regime, in an attempt to control and disguise the vast rural areas and sabotage the construction of the revolutionary base areas. Wang Zhanniu worked hard for his Japanese master, and showed his skills for betraying the country and seeking glory.

1. Set up strongholds and expand armaments

Wang Zhanniu is entrenched in Bian Zhuang and Butou as the center, develops along both sides of Linzao Highway to the surrounding areas, and by 1940, it reaches Dazhong Village in the north, Nanqiao in the south, and more than 60 miles in the north and south; To the east to Qingzhu, to the west to Shangyan, and to the east and west, there are also more than 20 strongholds, including more than 10 pseudo-township offices. They also built blockhouses on both sides of the Linzao Highway and set up obstacles to wantonly sabotage the struggle to resist Japan and save the country, and blockade the connection between our Lunan Military Region and the anti-Japanese base areas in the coastal area.

At this time, Wang Zhanniu gathered reactionary landlords and bandit leaders Yang Kaitian, Liu Xihai, Wang Danxi, Gao Chongyi, Gao Hongchen, Zhang Jingfa, Wang Hequan, and Yin Yuyan as squadron leaders, squad leaders, or township chiefs of the puppet army, as his backbone force. By 1942, Wang Zhanniu had more than 600 traitor troops. In addition, he also personally went to Shangyan to support the reactionary warlord Jin Dianming, and formed the second brigade of the Yin Suppression Communist Party of Linyi Dao, Shandong, and Jin became the captain.

Wang Zhanniu tried his best to collude with the reactionary forces of the Kuomintang and cooperated with the devils to carry out "sweeps" against our base areas on many occasions. Everywhere he went, he committed adultery and plundered, and mutilated the people. In order to set up a stronghold, the surrounding people were forced to dig ditches, cut down trees, set up stockades, and build blockhouses, and Tong Suo was not spared. The amount of food grabbing and extorting money cannot be calculated. They spend all day drinking, and the people are not happy.

2. Kill my cadres and maim the people

Wang Zhanniu and his subordinates did all kinds of evil and killed our cadres and the masses.

In 194O, Wang Zhanniu sent his squad leader Yang Kaitian to the Zhaizian stronghold. Yang Kaitian took the opportunity to extort and extort the people of the surrounding villages, robbed the people's property, and occupied the people's daughters, doing everything. If anyone did not obey him, he was put on the hat of "the eight roads" and was brutally killed. In April 1941, Yang Kaitian arrested the mother and son of our anti-Japanese army and escorted them to the grave of Song Huangya, the puppet township chief who was killed by our army. The common people dare to be angry but dare not speak.

In December 1941, in the harsh winter season, Wang Zhanniu personally led a team to set up a stronghold in the Guanlin area. The young and middle-aged laborers of the villages within a dozen miles of the surrounding area were arrested to repair the bunkers, and if anyone did not meet their wishes, they were hung up and tortured, and on one occasion two villagers were arrested and hung on the beams of the west house in the courtyard of the brigade headquarters. Wang Zhanniu listened in the team headquarters, and several puppet soldiers forced the two to admit that they were militiamen, but they refused to admit it, and they were beaten to death and passed out many times. Zhang Jingfa, the leader of Wang Zhanniu's squad, not only robbed people's property and hanged the people in Guancun, but also led the puppet army to rape and gang rape women in broad daylight. The local people hated them to the core.

In November 1942, Yin Yuyan, the puppet township chief of Tuqiaotou, led the puppet army to surround our Nanqiao District squadron under the command of Wang Zhanniu. When the squadron in our district broke through, Comrade Liu Junqing, a soldier, was seriously injured and fell into the hands of the enemy.

In the spring of 1944, Comrade Luo Li, a reconnaissance staff officer of the Third Army Subdivision of the Lunan Military Region, and a scout went to the north of the Linzao Highway at night to carry out their mission, and walked to Moshan. When Staff Officer Luo and the others arrived at the intersection at about ten o'clock in the evening, the puppet soldiers who were lying in ambush on the side of the road opened fire on both sides. Staff Officer Luo and the other two were shot several times and died. Gao Chongyi took the two shell guns of our scouts and reported his merits to Wang Zhanniu.

Because Yin Yuguan and Gao Chongyi, the two killers of swordsmen, were effective in mutilating our personnel, they were appreciated by Wang Zhanniu and his Japanese masters, and they were respectively promoted and rewarded, and they were successively promoted from the leader of the puppet army to the leader of the squadron.

Wang Zhanniu's brutality was not only the brutalization and slaughter of our cadres and people, but also his subordinates, once he was suspicious, he would not let go. Sun Xianlun, the telephone squad leader of the puppet district office, and Zhao Keyan, the township captain of Xiaoling Township, because they were influenced by their relatives and friends and the political situation, often contacted our staff out of national patriotism and became our associates. Due to carelessness, Wang Zhanniu discovered his identity and was shot dead in December 1943. There is also Shao Yongkun, the coach of Wang Zhanniu's brigade department, who is also a related person of our side, Shao has always been cautious and has never exposed his identity. However, Liu Xihai, the platoon commander of Wang Zhanniu's cronies, was jealous of Shao Yongkun, and repeatedly framed Shao Yongkun to Wang Zhanniu, saying that "Shao Yongkun has eight routes and sells arms" and so on, Wang Zhanniu instructed Liu Xihai to secretly keep an eye on Shao Yongkun and take the opportunity to kill him. Late one night, Shao Yongkun went to Bian Zhuang Street to run errands, and when he walked to the Twist Bridge, Liu Xihai had already ambushed here, and fired several shots at Shao Yongkun's back, Shao was shot and fell into the river and died.

3. Extortion, windfall.

During the years that Wang Zhanniu was a traitor, he changed from a small restaurant to a large landlord with thousands of acres of land, and he became rich quickly. Some of these lands were purchased by Wang Zhanniu with the money he had robbed, and some were wantonly occupied by Wang Zhanniu by relying on his power. At that time, there were Wang Zhanniu's land in Bian Zhuang, Twist Tou, Daijia Village, East Paper Mill and other villages. The 500 acres of land used in Bian Zhuang Market are all owned by Wang Zhanniu. His father, the king, forgave him and went to collect taxes at every gathering. There are more than 200 acres of his land in Donghu Lake, and more than 100 acres of East Paper Mill.

After Wang Zhanniu became the captain of the Linyi County Garrison Brigade and the head of the Seventh District, he alone held the local military and political power. The people were afraid. The local hooligans and local tyrants competed for marriage, and the landlords and old wealth tended to be inflammatory, and they slipped their beards and patted their horses, boasting that he was "Captain Wang is highly respected, and he works hard for the township, so he should erect a moral and political monument" and so on. Wang Zhanniu's heart is full of joy and joy. After he left or died, the local people in order to remember his kindness, for him to build a stone stele, engraved with the words of praise to commemorate the virtues. And this heinous traitor, who really didn't know that there was a word "shame" in the world, actually used the mouth of the so-called people to erect a "moral and political monument" for himself. In the autumn of 1941, Wang Zhanniu's "Moral and Political Monument" was erected in the north of Xitou Road of Touqiao. The stele is engraved with "Linyi County Garrison Brigade", the big character in the middle is "Wang Gongcheng Gui Dezheng", and the inscription of the lower link is "All the public in the seventh district of Linyi County respectfully stands".

When the monument was erected, all the leaders of the puppet army, the puppet districts, and the masses of the people in the enemy-occupied areas had to give gifts and congratulate them. The giver of money, the giver of things, the person who sent steamed buns, fish, meat, and snacks, carried by hand, on the shoulder, and carried by people, like a stream of traffic, flowed to Wang Zhanniu's house, eating, wearing, wearing, and using everything. This was a big blackmail by Wang Zhanniu by erecting a monument to "political virtue."

In the spring of 1943, Wang Zhanniu married his second son, which was another big blackmail. A few months before the marriage of the second son, the leaders of the puppet army and the puppet district and township chiefs were notified to go to congratulate him; The puppet village chief also went door-to-door to inform the common people in the enemy-occupied areas to gather together to give gifts. The local people are so poor that they can't eat, and they have to ask their relatives and friends to borrow money and prepare gifts, otherwise the captain will blame the family for ruining the family, and on the day of welcoming relatives, there is an endless stream of gift-givers, no less than when the monument is erected. Wang Zhanniu relied on his power to arbitrarily extort the working people, wantonly arrest and kill revolutionary cadres, and became a loyal lackey of Japanese imperialism.

Three

All reactionaries are paper tigers. On the surface, Wang Zhanniu looks fierce and invincible, but in fact, his heart is very empty. Due to the continuous development and growth of the anti-Japanese armed forces, Wang Zhanniu's power was increasingly attacked and weakened.

In August 1940, our Yixian detachment conquered Wang Zhanniu's puppet stronghold in Hujia and captured Wang Yongsheng, the puppet township head, alive. In September, he uprooted the Changxinqiao stronghold, forcing a puppet army squadron to revolt, and dealt a great blow to Wang Zhanniu. In January 1941, Wang Zhanniu sent his capable armed forces to the stronghold of Hexi'an, Dazhong Village, and when the fortifications had not yet been formed and the foothold was not stable, the Yixian detachment suddenly surrounded it, completely annihilated the puppet army, killed the puppet township chief Song Huangya (the big landlord of Zhaizi Village) on the spot, and captured Li Cuizhi, the leader of the puppet squadron in the puppet district. In particular, Comrade Wang Xianting, commander of the Yihe Detachment of the Eighth Route Army, often led his troops to carry out activities in the outskirts of the country, and effectively attacked the enemy and puppet army. There is a local folk song: "When the traitor is upset, he goes out and meets Wang Xianting, and he is lucky to be captured, and most of them are killed." At the mention of Wang Xianting, the puppet army was terrified. In March 1943, Wang Zhanniu sent another puppet army squadron, together with a squad of Japanese invaders from Bian Zhuang, to the Baozi'an stronghold. When our 5th Regiment learned of this, it immediately rushed to surround the fort stronghold, killing more than 20 Japanese squad leader Noguchi and his soldiers on the spot, and capturing 5 alive; More than 70 puppet soldiers were killed and captured. This time, Wang Zhanniu suffered a big defeat, and the puppet army was terrified. After that, in order to facilitate the visit, Wang Zhanniu's stronghold gradually shrank. By 1944, the puppet strongholds of Changxinqiao, Zhaizi, Budong, Jiulongshan, Chenzhuang, Xiqi, and Xiaoling were withdrawn to the vicinity of Bian Zhuang one after another, and his brigade headquarters was also moved from Biantou to Tazishan in Bian Zhuang.

In 1944, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression entered the stage of counteroffensive, and the situation developed rapidly. The anti-Japanese anger of the people of southern Lunan was surging and unstoppable. Wang Zhanniu felt that his fate was in jeopardy, but he was unwilling to surrender to the people, so he took refuge in Liu Kangchen, the leader of the puppet army. After the July 7 incident, he was appointed as the commander of the second detachment of the eighth column of the fifth theater of the Kuomintang, specializing in colluding with bandits and traitors to carry out anti-communist and anti-people activities. Since then, Liu and Wang have joined forces and acted in embarrassment.

In the first half of 1945, the Japanese also gave their lackey Wang Zhanniu support and encouragement, and promoted him to the first captain of the Linyi Suppression Communists, which consisted of three brigades, the first captain of which was concurrently served by Wang Zhanniu, the second captain Jin Dianming, and the third captain Song Zhenting. At the same time, Liu Ganchen also tried his best to win over Wang Zhanniu and named him the commander of the First Mixed Brigade of the Eighth Column of the Kuomintang Sulu Theater. At this time, Wang Zhanniu stepped on two boats and was desperately engaged in counter-revolutionary activities.

Four

On August 15, 1945, Japan announced its unconditional surrender. Bian Zhuang's devils withdrew. Wang Zhanniu saw that the situation was not good, and he also panicked, he hurriedly led his troops to escape from Bian Zhuang, and took Liu Kangchen's handwritten letter to Lincheng (now Xuecheng) to join the Kuomintang Central Army. He was afraid that there would be an interception by the Eighth Route Army on the Linzao Highway, so he had to take a small road, detour to Lanling, and flee in the direction of Yixian. When his brigade passed through Fushankou and Hongcun, it was constantly blocked by our local troops and militia, and was crushed, leaving less than 700 remnants. Wang Zhanniu had to change his plan and fled to Beiguan in Yi County, where he joined forces with Shi Zhenjiu, the puppet county magistrate, to take refuge for the time being.

In order to expand and consolidate the revolutionary base areas, the Canal Zone and the Lunan Mountains were united, and the enemy's attack from Xuzhou to the northeast was uprooted, and the puppet army defending the city was waiting to be absorbed by Chiang. The Eighth Division of the Shandong Field Army was ordered to attack and annihilate the enemy in Yi County, and the Linzao Martial Arts Brigade cooperated. Wang Lushui, commander and political commissar of the Eighth Division, immediately convened a meeting of cadres at and above the regimental level, which was attended by Cui Mengpo, chief of the reconnaissance section of the Lunan Military Region, and Qu Weiying, director of the offices of Teng, Yi, Pi, and Tongshan counties. At the meeting, Qu Weiying first reported on the situation in Yi County. At that time, the city of Yixian was still occupied by the puppet army, in addition to a garrison brigade of the puppet county magistrate Shi Zhenjiu, there were also small armed forces such as Long Xizhen (nicknamed Longgua House), the head of the puppet district of Jiantouji, and Huang Ba, the head of the Chengguan District of Yixian County, with a total of less than 1,000 people. The remnants of Wang Zhanniu's 700 men were stationed in Beiguan. Because they came from all sides, the internal situation was complicated, and it was difficult to unify their command, and because they were waiting for Chiang to be absorbed, their thinking was sluggish, their morale was low, and their confidence in the garrison was not strong. In addition, outside the south gate of Yixian County, there are more than 100 people from a squadron of Japanese invaders, who are stationed in Nanguan and the station, because they are waiting to surrender their guns, it is estimated that they will not assist the puppet army in combat. The city wall was built with simple bunkers, and there were no tight fortifications, which was easy to break through. The cadres attending the meeting analyzed the situation and studied the battle plan, and finally the commander of Wang Lushui's division laid out the combat mission: the 22nd Regiment would attack the city wall, the 23rd Regiment would capture the railway station and capture Nanguan, and the 24th Regiment would send reinforcements. The armed engineering team cooperates with the main force and has two main tasks: (1) to further find out the enemy's urban defense facilities; (2) After attacking the city, search for the leader of the puppet army and prevent him from slipping through the net.

According to the needs of the battlefield, the armed engineering team was organized into two short gun detachments and one rifle detachment. Most of the members of the Wugong team are locals, who are familiar with the situation in Yi County, and after accepting the task, they act quickly. Sun Jide, the captain of the martial arts team, led a short-gun detachment to the east of the city to observe the terrain; Xu Guangyun, deputy captain of the Wugong team, led another short-gun detachment to observe the terrain from Nanguan to Beiguan along the outside of the city. In order to find out the fortifications in the city and understand the enemy's dynamics, Qu Weiying sent Zhang Xianbin and Sun Jinyun to disguise themselves as ordinary people, and the old housekeeper of the Jesus Church Orphanage in Fengxian County was used as a cover to drive donkeys carrying grain into the city.

On 9 September, night fell, and all the commanders and fighters, under the unified command of Division Commander Wang Lushui, separately entered the position to lay an ambush. At 21 o'clock, a red flare rose into the air, and the troops attacked. The demolition company, under the cover of fire, charged four times in a row; Finally, the east gate of the city was blown open, and the military engineering team followed the first battalion to rush into the city first, and then rushed south through the central street to kill, occupying the enemy's south gate stronghold, and the second and third battalions also occupied the Catholic church and the southwest gate one after another. Under the attack of our powerful firepower, the puppet army was caught off guard and became a mess, some hurriedly disarmed and surrendered, some lay on the side of the road and pretended to be dead, and some hid in the homes of ordinary people. Early the next morning, the martial arts team quickly divided into three routes, and with the cooperation of the local people, they went door to door to search for the leader of the puppet army and arrest the traitor Wang Zhanniu.

When Wang Zhanniu fled from Bian Zhuang, in addition to leading a large group of men, he was always with his wife and children, and there was a well-equipped special service platoon and eight personal guards to protect him. After the battle began, the soldiers of the special service platoon fled for their lives, and the personal guards also got into the people's pot houses one by one, and when they heard our soldiers shouting: "Surrender the guns and don't kill," they all got out of the people's pot houses and raised their hands to surrender. There was only one guard named Lu Desheng, who tried to resist stubbornly, and was stabbed in the stomach by our soldier and almost died. The treacherous Wang Zhanniu, who probably thought that it was easy to hide alone, threw off his wheat and sneaked to a common man's house, begging to save his life. When we searched here, as soon as we entered the gate, we saw an old man sitting in front of the stove, his bare head lowered, burning a fire. I recognized this person at a glance as Wang Zhanniu, and deliberately asked the housewife: "Are there any outsiders in the house?" The woman said, "No, no." He pointed to Wang Zhanniu's back and showed it to us. said that it was too late, it was fast, Comrade Sun Jide understood, went up with an arrow step and grabbed Wang Zhanniu's collar, and shouted: "You don't have to pretend to be garlic, quickly raise your hand!" The members of the martial arts team tied up Wang Zhanniu with all hands and feet and escorted him to the group of prisoners in the square outside the north gate.

In this battle, more than 1,500 puppet soldiers under the traitor Wang Zhanniu and the puppet county magistrate Shi Zhenjiu were captured alive, more than 30 people were killed, more than 20 light machine guns, more than 10 hand cannons, more than 1,000 long and short guns, and more than 30 war horses were captured.

After the battle, the puppet army leaders who were captured alive were dealt with by the Public Security Bureau of the Lunan Agency. Shi Zhenjiu, the puppet county magistrate, was tried to correct the law on the spot. The traitors Wang Zhanniu, Zhao Yiqiao, Jin Dianming, and Zhao Jiannan, the pseudo-head of Shangyan, were escorted to Zhao Lu County (formerly the border union of four counties, now Cangshan County) for disposal.

On the 15th day of the ninth lunar month in 1945, the Zhaolu County Government held a sentencing meeting in front of Tashan. This day is Bian Zhuang Gathering, and there are many people rushing to the market. The common people also heard that Wang Zhanniu was going to be shot.

Zheng Shuzhen: The traitor king occupies the bull and his own affairs

People want to see Wang Zhanniu's shameful end with their own eyes to relieve the hatred in their hearts for many years. The young people acted quickly and rushed to Bian Zhuang very early; The old people put on crutches, and the women held their children, regardless of the fatigue of the long distance, and rushed to Bian Zhuang from dozens of miles away. The judgment stand was erected high, and the meeting hall was crowded with people, waiting for the trial meeting in an orderly manner. When the criminals Wang Zhanniu and Zhao Yiqiao entered the venue, the crowd stared at them with angry eyes and shouted: "Blood debts must be repaid with blood!" "Wang Zhanniu deserves death!" and other slogans. Wang Zhanniu and the others were so frightened that they trembled, and their faces were like earth. On behalf of the county people's government, Comrade Zhang Zhaoyong, responsible person of the county party committee, read out the facts of Wang Zhanniu and Zhao Yiqiao's crimes, and announced on the spot: The death sentence will be carried out immediately. The public security officers took the two criminals to Tazishan and then shot them. ended Wang Zhanniu's criminal life, and removed a great scourge for the people.
