On July 6, the "Omron Cup" 3rd Capital News Unit Go Friendly Match was held at the Yellow River Kyoto Hotel in Beijing. The event was hosted by the Beijing Sports Journalists Association, co-organized by the Beijing Dongcheng District Chess and Card Sports Association, and sponsored by Omron Healthcare (China) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Omron").
The Capital News Unit Go Friendly Tournament is a traditional sports event of Beijing news units, which was first created in the 80s of the last century, and has played an important role in promoting the promotion of Go among the central media in Beijing and the news units in the capital, and enhancing the liaison and exchange between various news units in Beijing. In 2021, the Beijing Sports Journalists Association resumed the holding of this historic event, and according to the actual situation of the development of journalism, expanded the scope of participation to online media and new media communication institutions, which has been held for the third time.
This year's Capital News Unit Go Friendly Tournament attracted a total of 24 players from nearly 20 news organizations, news websites, news magazines and new media. The tournament consists of 4 rounds of 30 minutes each. During the game, the participating players showed their strengths, displayed their wisdom and thinking between the warp and weft, and showed a number of wonderful games.
In the end, Fu Lin from Tencent and Ma Jian from Tianjin Radio and Television won the first prize; Teng Weidong from China Central Radio and Yang Yong from People's Daily won the second prize; Jiang Tao from CCTV and Zhang Wentian from Science and Technology Daily won the third prize.
At the post-match award ceremony, the winning players won prizes provided by Omron, including a low- and mid-frequency therapy device, an electronic sphygmomanometer that can measure electrocardiograms at the same time, and an all-in-one electronic sphygmomanometer. All the participating players and representatives of journalists who will travel to cover the Paris Olympics also received a wrist blood pressure monitor from Omron. Omron hopes that this move will allow them to monitor their physical condition in real time and ensure their health during their intensive coverage of the Olympics.
At the closing ceremony, Dong Meiqi, Director of Brand Strategy Department of Omron Healthcare (China) Co., Ltd., said: "Omron will continue to take practical actions to help build a 'sports power' and a 'Healthy China', gradually transform from a 'medical device provider' to a 'leader in chronic disease management solutions', and contribute to the extension of human life."
