On July 5th, the 2024 French Film Festival Wuhan Station opened at Lumiecde 1818 Cinema! Between 5 July and 28 July, eight new French feature films and one short film were presented on the big screen (Picture 1). Directed by French-Vietnamese director Tran Hung Hung and starring Juliette Binoche and Benoit Magimer, "French Fondue" was the opening film and was first presented in the afternoon.
Since its first edition in Beijing in 2004, the French Film Festival has been favored by fans as part of the "Sino-French Cultural Spring" for many years. This year's screening will feature actress Zhang Ziyi as a promotional ambassador and will be held in 10 cities in China – Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Xi'an, Chengdu, Kunming, Nanjing, Hangzhou and Jinan – from June 26 to August 29.

This year's Sino-French Cultural Spring is a special presentation of #60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, and we look forward to bringing you a hundred flowers of French cinema this year. ”
The selected works for the 2024 French Film Festival cover comedies, dramas, documentaries, and animations, telling the pain of creation, the bitter love, the history of blood and tears, etc., many of which have been selected for Cannes, Berlin and other internationally renowned film festivals, and won many important awards.
This year's French Film Festival Wuhan Station opened film "French Hot Pot", which was shortlisted for the main competition unit of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, and director Mr. Chen Yingying also won the Best Director Award for this film. The film focuses on the lives of foodie Dodan and chef Eugenie after more than 20 years together. The whole work is subtle, gentle, and delicate in narrative; A variety of French delicacies throughout the film make people "feast their eyes".
In addition to "French Fondue", "The Goldman Trial" was the opening film of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival Directors' Fortnight; In The Book of Methods, director Michel Gondry reveals his alter ego through Pierre Ninet's interpretation; In the Berlin Golden Bear-winning film Dahomey, director Matti Diop adds a feature film to the documentary......
Last but not least, The Three Musketeers: d'Artagnan, starring Eva Green, Romain Duris and Vincent Cassel, will present a modern version of this classic from Alexandre Dumas to Chinese audiences!
