The reporter learned from the flood control and drought relief headquarters of Huarong County, Yueyang City, Hunan Province, that at about 16 o'clock on July 5, the first-line embankment (pile number 19+800) of Dongting Lake in Tuanzhouyuan, Huarong County, was in danger. At about 17:48, after the failure of emergency plugging, the embankment burst, and after preliminary survey, the width of the embankment mouth was about 10 meters.
