The pinnacle is the pinnacle, the pinnacle of the development of things, just like the apex of most stocks and heads.
Looking at the title, some people may want to say that you didn't watch the Nongshim Cup? It's like when you talk about the difference between online chess and face chess, someone immediately scolds you and accuses others of cheating for no reason. Anyway, as a deep lover of Go, just present the data faithfully.
Shen Zhenzhen's peak has passed, mainly from two aspects:
- Results from the world races.
- Segmented win rate.
In the 25th Nongshim Cup, Shen Zhenzhen cleared the stage with one shot with his own strength, skewered the five Chinese generals, pushed Shen Zhenzhen's prestige to the highest point, and praised all kinds of merits, and even some Chinese chess players raised the achievements of the world championship to the distinction of gentlemen and villains. However, when it comes to consecutive victories against Chinese chess players in the world competition, Shen Zhenzhen only won 7 consecutive victories against Chinese chess players when the Nongshim Cup cleared the stage with one shot, and was immediately ended by Yang Kaiwen in the Chunlan Cup. Compared with the 22-game winning streak against Chinese players in the World Championship in 2021-2022 (please refer to Table 10.), Shin's performance has been greatly reduced. Obviously, the period from 2021 to 2022 is the peak of Shen Zhenzhen.
Table 1.Shin's peak: 2021-2022
The above table is arranged by the start date of the tournament, and so far in 2023, Shin Zhenzhen's chances of advancing to the finals are 3/8, the round of 16 is 4/8, and the chances of advancing to the finals in the online chess era are 6/9, and the round of 16 is 1/9, which is a world of difference. The era of online chess also drove Park Tinghuan, Bian Xiangyi, and Shin Minjun to win a championship each.
The existence of a higher level is not only Shen Zhenzhen, but also Ke Jie, who has a very short peak period, but compared with these super-first-class Shen Zhenzhen during the 2021-2022 online chess period is a god-like existence.
Table 2 data is from the Korea Chess Academy, and the 2024 data is as of July 4.
Table 2 shows that Shin Jin-jung's outstanding achievements surpassed Lee Chang-ho regardless of the opponent's chess academy. However, South Korea's overall strength and thickness are far inferior to China's, and it is an indisputable fact that only the top five can compete with China's master group for many years. If Shen Zhenzhen's opponents are subdivided, the above statement can be confirmed.
In 2019, Shen Zhenzhen's winning rate of 86.4% against non-Chinese players has crossed a threshold, but the winning rate of 69.2% for Chinese players is similar to 71.4% in the previous year, which fully shows that the World Championship is still not enough to pose a threat to Chinese players during this period.
The data shows that in 2021, when Shin Zhenzhen absolutely crushed Chinese chess players in the World Championship, it was a relatively "low ebb" in the face of Korean chess players (79.7%) in China.
In 2021, Shin Jinzhen had 14 defeats against Korean chess players, 5 defeats against Bian Sang-il, 5 defeats against Park Tinghuan, 1 defeat each of Shin Minjun, Kim Ji-seok, Park Jin-so, and Baek Hong-so.
Table 5.Breakdown of the match between Shen Zhenzhen and Bian Xiangyi: The yellow background is 2021
Bian Xiangyi was almost ruthlessly suppressed by Shin Zhenzhen from beginning to end, except for 5 wins in 2021, but except for the final of the National Champion Mountain Cup, the remaining 4 wins were won for nothing. What's even worse is that after 2022, the three chess games are all hard to win.
Table 6: Details of the match between Shin Jinzhen and Park Tinghuan:
Park Jeong-hwan has been clean sheet in all of his games except for 2021 since he was kept clean by Shin Jin-jin in the 24th LG Cup final, but the other 3 wins in 2021 were all won for nothing, except for the most valuable 26th Samsung Cup.
The following table includes the Nongshim Cup, which is divided into three stages according to the period of net chess, the world competition, and the non-world competition.

Table 9.
Ke Jie's "official match" win rate over the years: data as of July 4
To summarize Shen Zhenzhen's winning rate, there are the following three rules:
- The win rate of face chess is not as good as the win rate of net chess.
- Face chess against Chinese players has a lower win rate than against South Korean players.
- The win rate of the World Championship against Chinese players is not as good as that of the non-World Championship.
However, the second and third rules of online chess are the opposite.
Table 3, Shen Zhenzhen's winning rate against Chinese chess players is basically maintained at 80%, which is consistent with the winning rate of Ke Jie's heyday, but Ke Jie only maintained it for two years, and Shen Zhenzhen maintained it for at least five years.
Shin Zhenzhen is not a precocious chess player, if it is now a boom and a decline, it must be too early to say, at least it will never fall off a cliff like Ke Jie, and the difference in the professional life span of Chinese and Korean chess players does not need to be explained.
Why are there incredible figures, or the peculiarities of online chess, or the large-scale suspension of tournaments in China during the epidemic, or the change of the competition system, or the fact that the players cannot draw lots in person...
Don't blindly accuse Chinese chess players of not working hard, it is not the Chinese chess players who are beaten the most by Shen Zhenzhen, it is Bian Xiangyi and Park Tinghuan.
