The high-resolution neutron diffractometer is the first ultra-high-resolution neutron powder diffractometer in mainland China, with the world's most advanced ultra-high-resolution capabilities. The spectrometer was jointly built by the Spallation Neutron Source Science Center and the Shenzhen Graduate School of Peking University, and is the seventh cooperative spectrometer that has been successfully beamed by the Spallation Neutron Source in China. The high-resolution neutron diffractometer will provide a research platform for basic research and applied research to break through the limits of traditional structural analysis, and provide strong support for the research and development of new materials, new energy, biomedicine, electronic information and other fields.

The high-pressure neutron diffractometer is the first time-of-flight high-voltage spectrometer in China and the second large-cavity neutron spectrometer in the world, which was jointly built by the Spallation Neutron Source Science Center and Southern University of Science and Technology. The equipment has a variety of functions such as diffraction and imaging, and has important applications in many fields such as condensed matter physics, chemistry, new energy, materials science, geology, and high-pressure science and technology. The beam release of this equipment also marks the completion of the construction of eight cooperative spectrometers of the China Spallation Neutron Source in 2018, which will significantly enhance the multidisciplinary research capabilities of the China Spallation Neutron Source.
