At the end of last month, a batch of household appliances, tires, auto parts and other goods transiting through Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province by overseas were transported to Kazakhstan and other Asian countries by Lianyungang China-Europe Express (including Central Asia, the same below); On July 2, a batch of ferroalloys produced in Kazakhstan arrived in Lianyungang by China-Europe train, and then transferred to Southeast Asia by sea liner. The advantages of Lianyungang international hub seaport are becoming increasingly prominent.
In Jiangsu's largest seaport city, the China-Europe freight train running on the Eurasian land bridge also helps it reach the mountains and the sea. In September last year, the China-Europe Express International Cooperation Forum was successfully held in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, to further strengthen the smooth connection of industrial and supply chains in countries and regions along the Belt and Road, and promote the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative. Up to now, the Lianyungang China-Europe Railway Express has laid out 4 railway exit ports in Alashankou, Khorgos, Erenhot and Manzhouli, realizing full coverage of major international stations in Central Europe and Central Asia, and opening a total of 5 train lines to five Central Asian countries and China-Mongolia, China-Russia, China-Europe, and China-Turkey (Trans-Caspian Sea). In the first six months of this year, a total of 366 China-Europe trains (including return trips) were operated in Lianyungang, a year-on-year increase of 24.5%; 29,000 TEUs of goods were shipped, an increase of 7,800 TEUs year-on-year, continuing to provide strong momentum for economic development.
With the acceleration of urbanization in Kazakhstan in recent years, consumption upgrading has been accelerating. According to a statistic, more than 80% of Kazakhstan's imported consumer goods and exported mineral products, grain and other advantageous trade commodities through Lianyun Port are distributed through Lianyun Port, opening a window for Kazakhstan to develop cross-border cooperation and cooperation with Southeast Asian countries. So far, the economic and trade relations between Kazakhstan and the countries of the Belt and Road Initiative have become increasingly closely connected through the China-Europe freight train, and the resilience has been strengthened, and the trade has grown strongly.
In the Yangtze River Delta region, the most economically developed region in the mainland, the China-Europe train (including Central Asia, the same below) is also popular, in the first six months of this year, a total of 2,538 China-Europe trains (including the return trip), transporting 266,000 TEUs of goods, an increase of 12.8% year-on-year. A series of "steel camel caravans" galloped back and forth on the Eurasian continent, setting up an important "bridge" for international economic and trade cooperation between Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and other provinces and cities and the countries of the "Belt and Road".
The Yangtze River Delta region is home to many of the world's top 500 companies, and it is also one of the important industrial bases in the mainland. On September 29, 2013, the China-Europe Express (Suzhou-Warsaw) opened for the first time, marking a breakthrough in the Yangtze River Delta region.
On November 18, 2014, Zhejiang's first China-Europe train (Yiwu-Madrid) opened, with a total distance of more than 13,000 kilometers and a 21-day arrival in Madrid, Spain, located on the Iberian Peninsula, becoming the longest China-Europe train line in the Yangtze River Delta region so far. On February 22, 2015, the China-Europe Express (Yiwu-Madrid) carried goods back from Madrid for the first time, realizing the two-way operation of the China-Europe Express in the Yangtze River Delta.
On November 8, 2018, an international freight train from Hefei to Helsinki was loaded with solar panels, LED light sources, electronic sensors and other "precision manufacturing", leaving the Alashankou railway port and arriving in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, after 16 days......
From scratch, from less to more, from one-way to two-way travel...... For more than ten years, the railway department has conscientiously implemented the deployment requirements of the Party Central Committee, focused on the development of regional foreign trade economy and strong export demand, actively integrated into the integrated high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta, and successively successfully operated China-Europe trains to a total of 36 "Belt and Road" countries including Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, Latvia, Finland, Ukraine, Hungary, the Netherlands, Russia, Belarus and the five Central Asian countries in loading organization stations in 8 cities, including Yiwu, Jinhua, Hefei, Shanghai, Suzhou, Nanjing, Xuzhou and Lianyungang. It has created special train products such as Yiwu small commodities, Suzhou electronic products, Hefei white goods and auto parts, Lianyungang Japan-South Korea transit equipment, etc., so that more "Made in China" can take the "steel camel team" to the international market.
Over the past ten years, the China-Europe Railway Express in the Yangtze River Delta has operated a total of 25,000 trains (including return trips) and transported 4.684 million TEUs of goods, injecting new impetus into the high-quality economic development of the Yangtze River Delta, effectively ensuring the stability of the international industrial chain and supply chain, and driving the economic development and improvement of people's livelihood in countries and regions along the route.
Especially since the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the direction, number and frequency of China-Europe trains in the Yangtze River Delta have shown a continuous growth trend, and the "steel camel team" has run out of "acceleration". From 1,122 trains in 2017, with 5% of the return trip, to 4,185 trains in 2023, with 36.3% of the return trip, and 100% of the heavy container rate, the Yangtze River Delta China-Europe Railway Express has made positive contributions to boosting the upgrading and development of the region's foreign trade economy and serving the construction of a new development pattern.
In recent years, the goods shipped by the China-Europe Express in the Yangtze River Delta have become increasingly abundant, and the categories of goods have been continuously expanded and upgraded. In addition to the popular Yiwu small commodities, southern Jiangsu textiles, clothing, more competitive and high value-added photovoltaic modules, auto parts, machinery and equipment, white goods, etc. are also constantly entering the European market. In addition, the categories of goods returning to the country have gradually expanded from the early timber and auto parts to mechanical and electrical products, food, medical equipment, machinery and equipment, wine, etc., and have achieved diversified development.
One end is the "world supermarket" Yiwu, the other end is connected to Madrid, the largest small commodity distribution center in Europe, there is a large number of logistics and trade service demand between the two places, providing a natural market soil for the opening and rapid development of Yiwu China-Europe trains, about 1.8 million kinds of Yiwu small commodities are sold to all over the world through China-Europe trains, entering the ranks of the global market. Anhui Huangshan tea, Zhejiang Yongkang hardware tools and other local specialty products have also gone abroad and gone to the world with the "steel camel team".
Make it easier to transport goods and run faster. Relevant enterprises and departments continue to innovate the operation mode of the Yangtze River Delta China-Europe Railway Express, and continue to improve the operation quality and efficiency. Railways, customs, and ports have cooperated to launch the "bonded + export" cargo container mixing mode of Lianyungang China-Europe trains, which uses the idle space of export containers to allow small batches of goods to "hitchhike", which solves the long delivery time and waiting time of consolidation and shipment, and reduces the transportation cost of enterprises. Nanjing Customs has taken many measures such as reforming the customs clearance mode, strengthening information sharing, and promoting the "fast customs clearance" mode to effectively improve the efficiency of the whole process of customs clearance of China-Europe freight trains, and promote the reduction of enterprise declaration costs by about 20%. The intelligent container station management system put into use at Jinhua South Station has formed a fist and connected the "islands" such as the freight e-commerce system, the station freight system, and the freight ticket system that were originally separated, realizing the paperless and whole-process intelligent management of container operations.
The China-Europe freight train relies on the land bridge and is born to the land. Thousands of miles of railway, strong arteries. In the face of the Yangtze River Delta, an export-oriented economic highland with the advantages of industrial clusters, the railway department will continue to thoroughly implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee, focus on the national strategy of integrated and high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta, and unite all parties to build the China-Europe Railway Express into a "road of happiness" that benefits people around the world and a "road of prosperity" that benefits all countries in the world, and strives to draw a new blueprint for the vigorous development of countries along the "Belt and Road" in the service of China-Europe Railway Express.
