Under the combined influence of the subtropical high and the upper-air trough, there were two precipitation weather processes in Shenmu from July 4 to 7, and the main precipitation processes were from the night of the 4th to the night of the 5th, and from the night of the 6th to the day of the 7th. From the night of the 4th to the night of the 5th, there were showers or thundershowers (0-10 mm) in Shenmu, accompanied by strong winds above level 6, and local hail; Light to moderate rain (2-15 mm) in Shenmu during the night of the 6th to the day of the 7th. Precipitation is convective in nature, accompanied by thunderstorms above level 6 and strong winds, and hourly rain intensity of 10-20 mm/h. Cumulative precipitation during the process: 5-15 mm.
The specific forecast is as follows:
4 July: Showers or thundershowers (0-5 mm) at night with localized hail.
5 July: Cloudy with intermittent overcast with showers or thundershowers (0-5mm).
6 July: Sunny to cloudy.
7 July: Cloudy with light to moderate rain (2-15 mm).
Impact analysis and recommendations
The precipitation process is highly convection, and it is necessary to focus on preventing the adverse effects of strong convective weather such as short-term heavy precipitation, thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail.
1. Prevent the adverse effects of heavy precipitation. From the night of the 6th to the day of the 7th, there was moderate rain in some towns and streets of Shenmu. It is necessary to prevent secondary disasters such as urban waterlogging, mountain floods, floods of small and medium-sized rivers and geological disasters caused by the rapid turn of drought and flood, and it is recommended that the government and relevant departments do a good job in prevention.
2. Prevent the adverse effects of strong convective weather. From the 4th to the 7th, the strong convective weather in Shenmu was active and frequent, and the precipitation period was accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, short-term heavy precipitation, hail and other strong convective weather. Outdoor workers such as high-altitude, water, and field workers should stop their operations immediately when encountering strong convective weather. Avoid taking shelter from large trees, towering isolated objects, and answering mobile phones during thunderstorms. It is necessary to strengthen the prevention of secondary geological disasters such as urban and rural waterlogging, collapse, and landslides that may be caused by local short-term heavy precipitation, and it is recommended that relevant departments do a good job in the inspection and patrol work of key areas such as waterfront and cliff sections, bridges and tunnels, railway lines, reservoirs, silt dams, as well as tourist attractions and mining enterprises.
3. Pay attention to the impact on agriculture. Since June, there has been less precipitation in Shenmu. The rainfall process helps to alleviate the high temperatures and increase moisture. The agricultural departments are requested to continue to do a good job in all aspects of the work of fighting drought and protecting moisture, and the meteorological departments should seize the favorable opportunity to do a good job in the operation of artificial rainfall.
4. Pay attention to the latest forecasts and warnings. Due to the complex and changeable severe convective weather, the intensity of precipitation and the falling area still need to be adjusted to a certain extent, please pay attention to the latest forecast and warning information issued by the meteorological department in time.
