Uplink: The wind blows the willows
The jasper is made into a tree high, and ten thousand green silk ribbons hang down.
I don't know who cut out the thin leaves, and the spring breeze in February is like scissors.
——[Tang] He Zhizhang "Yongliu"
"The Wind Blows the Willow Cui" takes "wind" and "willow" as the depiction objects, vividly depicting the scene of willow branches swaying lightly with the wind and dripping green under the light spring breeze.
The word "whisk" is used very expressively, which not only expresses the softness of the spring breeze, but also gives the willow a dynamic beauty, as if the spring breeze is a gentle painter, who is gently touching each willow silk with her invisible hand, making it more verdant.
This couplet not only allows readers to feel the breath of spring, but also seems to be immersive, hearing the whispering of the wind and seeing the swaying of willows.
Downlink: The rain hits the apricot blossom red
The light rain at night washes the dust, and the son walks evenly.
No wonder the apricot orchard is haggard, and there are many flower arrangers in the city.
——[Tang] Du Mu "Apricot Garden"
"Rain hits apricot blossom red" changes the perspective, showing another scene of spring rain moistening apricot blossoms.
The spring rain is fine and gentle, gently beating the blooming apricot blossoms, making the color on the petals more vivid and dazzling, and the red color is more intense.
This scene reminds people of the Song Dynasty poet Ye Shaoweng's "The Garden is Not Worth It", "the garden is full of spring and can't be closed, and a branch of red apricot comes out of the wall", or the beauty of the Tang Dynasty poet Cui Hu's "human face and peach blossoms reflect red".
The apricot blossoms in the rain add a bit of delicacy and tenderness, which is pitiful.
This couplet combines the upper and lower couplets, through the delicate depiction of spring breeze, willows, spring rain, and apricot blossoms, forming a moving spring picture.
The "emerald" of the upper link and the "red" of the lower link, the color contrast is stark, which is not only a true portrayal of the natural scenery, but also a strong symbol of the vitality of spring, green represents the vigor of life, and red means the enthusiasm and splendor of life.
Through the subtle capture of natural scenes, the couplet shows the author's keen observation and profound artistic accomplishment, and at the same time, it also allegorizes that life is like spring, even in the face of wind and rain, we must face it bravely and bloom the most brilliant colors.
