Cao Cao, Emperor Wu of Wei (155 - March 15, 220), was a native of Peiguo County.
Cao Cao was a highly controversial figure in history, but also an extremely important figure, who had a profound impact on the development of Chinese history, he was an outstanding politician, military strategist, writer and calligrapher from the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Three Kingdoms period, and the founder of the Cao Wei regime.
Cao Cao's life is full of legends, and his stories and images have been reinterpreted repeatedly in Chinese literature, drama, and folklore, becoming an integral part of Chinese culture.
The geographical location of this Peiguo county roughly corresponds to today's Bozhou City, Anhui Province.
1. Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period:
In the Spring and Autumn Period, Qian County belonged to Jiaoyi of the Chen State.
After the Qin Dynasty unified the six countries, it established Qian County, which belonged to Dang County.
2. Han and Han dynasties:
During the Yuanshuo period of the Western Han Dynasty (128 BC to 123 BC), Qian County was changed to Pei County.
During the Eastern Han Dynasty, Qiaoxian County was changed to belong to Peiguo.
3. Three Kingdoms Period:
In the first year of the Wei and Huang dynasties of the Three Kingdoms (220), the county was established as the state of Qiao.
Emperor Cao Cao of Wei had been active here, in the last years of Jian'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Emperor Wu of Wei analyzed Peiguo and placed in Qian County, and ruled in Qian County.
4. Two Jin Dynasty Period:
In the fourth year of Xiankang in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (338), Qian County was changed to Xiaohuang County.
In the later period, there were records of Qiaozhi County, which belonged to Nanqiao County.
5. From the Northern and Southern Dynasties to the Sui and Tang Dynasties:
During the Southern Song Dynasty, the government of the state was moved to Mengxian County (now north of Shangqiu City, Henan).
In the third year of the great cause of the Sui Dynasty (607), the county was restored and ruled as the county.
In the Tang Dynasty, Qian County was governed by Bozhou.
6. Ming and Qing dynasties:
In the early years of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, Qian County was abolished and merged into Bozhou.
7. Modern:
Today's Bozhou City, a prefecture-level city in Anhui Province, has a rich historical and cultural heritage and is one of the important historical and cultural cities in China.
Historically, due to its important geographical location, Qiaoxian County has become a local administrative center many times, and its name and attribution have also changed with the change of dynasties. Among them, historical celebrities such as Cao Cao and Hua Tuo are all from Qiao County, which adds a strong cultural heritage to this place.
