Manchester United Women have confirmed the signing of Netherlands international Dominic Jensen in a free transfer.
Jensen, 29, has signed a three-year contract with the club with an option for an additional 12 months after her contract expires, following the expiration of her contract with Wolfsburg.
'I'm very happy to be joining such a great club as Manchester United,' said Jensen.
'It's a truly proud moment for me to sign here and I can't wait to get back to the English league and create new moments of glory with this talented Manchester United team.'
Manchester United Women's manager Mark Skinner said: "Dominic is a proven winner, both domestically and internationally.
"Her winning mentality is an important addition to our team and her significant game experience will elevate our entire dressing room. We are delighted to welcome Dominic to our Manchester United family. ”
The Dutch defender returns to the Women's Super League (WSL) after four seasons at Arsenal.
She made 66 appearances in all competitions for the north London club and won the WSL title and FA Cup before joining Wolfsburg in 2019.
She announced in May that she would leave the German club after her contract expired on June 30.
Jensen's arrival comes after the departure of high-profile players such as goalkeeper Mary Earps and club captain Katie Zelem. Spanish striker Lucia Garcia has also left the club at the end of his contract.
Manchester United have been criticised in recent weeks for their dissatisfaction with the management of the women's team.
Last month, it was reported that the club's women's squad would move out of the £11 million training facility to make way for the men's first team in 2024-25.
Separately, Tom Heaton has signed a new one-year contract with Manchester United.
The 38-year-old, who rejoined United in 2021, originally came through the club's academy but did not make a first-team appearance when he left in 2010 and has since been the club's second- and third-choice goalkeeper.
Heaton is currently training with England for the European Championships in Germany, although he is not a full member and is not eligible to be selected for the squad. England will face Switzerland in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
Since joining in 2021, Heaton has made three appearances for Manchester United. He did not feature for the first team last season, with his last appearance coming in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest in February 2023.
In 2023-24, Heaton was primarily United's third-choice goalkeeper, with number one goalkeeper Andre Onana missing just one game of the season before joining from Inter Milan in the summer. Manchester United have signed Altai Badir as a rival to the Cameroonian man, but the Turkey international has made just one appearance, in a 4-2 win over Newport County in the FA Cup fourth round in January.
Prior to returning to Manchester United, Heaton played for Burnley, making 200 Premier League and Championship appearances for the Lancashire side.
