According to the description of the medical history, combined with the sensation I touched, it looked like a lipoma. However, further tests are needed to determine what exactly is.

Question
What is a lipoma? Is it a "fat" or a "tumor"?
A lipoma is a common benign soft-tissue tumor made up of mature fat cells, which can be single or multiple, located under the skin or deep in the body. Under normal circumstances, this "tumorigenic factor" is in an inactive state, but under the stimulation of various factors, the "tumorigenic factor" will be activated, acting on normal fat cells, causing them to proliferate abnormally, and then forming lipomas.

Question
How is a lipoma formed and can it become malignant?
The cause is unknown, but it is related to genetics, chronic inflammation, and systemic dystrophy. According to some data, lipomas rarely become malignant and therefore have a relatively low case fatality rate.

Question
Do I need treatment? I feel that this lipoma on my arm is easy for me to touch, and I have grown up recently, and I want to remove it, is there any good way to remove it?
For the treatment of lipoma, it mainly depends on the size and location of the tumor and personal wishes, if it is relatively small and stable in size for a long time, there is no obvious growth, and it does not affect your daily life, then you can choose to leave it out for the time being and have regular reexamination. If it is relatively large and the area of growth compresses nerves, blood vessels, organs, etc., it may cause related symptoms to appear, and treatment is required. Or if you feel that the lump bulges and does not look good, you can also choose treatment if you are not at ease.

Question
Does the treatment require hospitalization? Is general anesthesia needed?
Most lipomas are superficial, except for particularly large lipomas and lipomas that involve deep tissues and blood vessels and require inpatient surgery, most of them can be completed under outpatient local anesthesia without hospitalization. Surgery for lipomas of the size below usually takes from half an hour to an hour.

The course of treatment
▶
Preoperative ultrasound examination (to determine the depth, size, etc. of the mass)
Forearm lipoma
The lipoma is removed intact with the capsule intact
"Tension reduction suture" is applied to bring the skin on both sides of the incision to the middle, reducing the tension on both sides and the formation of scars in the later stage (generally 3~6 months to restore flatness).
Postoperative pathological examination, confirmed as "lipoma"
