As soon as the words fell, the PLA military planes and warships sailed toward Taiwan Island in waves.
1. The Chinese ambassador said that "Taiwan can be closed at any time"
A few days ago, Chinese Ambassador to France Lu Shaye once again talked about the Taiwan issue in public, stressing that the Taiwan issue is the core of China's core interests, that Taiwan has never been a country, but a part of China, and that the Taiwan authorities' desire to "pursue independence" is to separate the territory of a sovereign state. The "regime" of the Taiwan authorities is a "rebel regime," and the mainland has the right to expel it at any time and take back its right to govern Taiwan.
(Chinese Ambassador to France Lu Shaye)
Ambassador Lu Shaye's remarks are very rare, because the mainland side has rarely made such a clear and hard-line "characterization" of the Taiwan authorities, but the meaning of the expression is very obvious, that is, to tell the Taiwan authorities that everything they are doing now is not recognized, and the mainland can take action against them at any time.
While warning the Taiwan authorities, Lu Shaye also stressed that for the sake of the well-being of the people on the island, he does not want to resolve the Taiwan issue by force, but still wants to resolve the Taiwan issue by peaceful means. This shows that the mainland has always exercised great restraint, not because of the Taiwan authorities, but for the sake of the people on the island, and the Taiwan authorities must not feel that it is because of themselves that they are "restricting" the mainland's next move.
2. Without waiting for the Taiwan authorities to react, the United States was in a hurry
After Ambassador Lu Shaye's remarks, the Taiwan authorities responded, of course, in the same old way, saying something like "will not change the status quo of each other," but one thing worth noting is that before the Taiwan authorities could react, the US side first made a phone call to the Chinese side in the middle of the night.
A few days ago, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu and US Deputy Secretary of State Campbell had a phone call, which was another dialogue and exchange between the two after nearly a month, in which Campbell mentioned the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait issue.
(Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Campbell)
At such a special point in time, when talking about the Taiwan Strait issue with the Chinese side, is Campbell trying to probe the Chinese side? After all, as soon as the signal of "closing Taiwan at any time" comes out, not only the Taiwan authorities will panic, but the United States will certainly not be able to sit still.
Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu stressed that the Taiwan issue is a red line in Sino-US relations, and "Taiwan independence" is a dead end, so supporting "Taiwan independence" will also lead to fire. What does this illustrate is that the mainland will not only crack down on the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, but will also not let go of the external forces that support them.
The United States is certainly one of the "external forces," and the United States has recently continued to make remarks about "protecting Taiwan by force," and has also approved a new round of arms sales to Taiwan, and even the commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command has even threatened the mainland that once the PLA takes military action against Taiwan, the US military will turn the Taiwan Strait into a "no man's hell," which is obviously supporting the Taiwan authorities' "pursuit of independence."
Therefore, Campbell not only did not get any "relaxation attitude" from Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu toward the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, but also once again confirmed the mainland's hardline attitude toward the United States.
3. The People's Liberation Army patrols Taiwan non-stop, and Lai Qingde "kidnaps" the people on the island
Of course, when the mainland sends out the signal of "taking over Taiwan at any time," the most worrying person must be Lai Qingde, and the mainland's previous issuance of the "Opinions" on punishing "Taiwan independence" is enough to make him tremble, not to mention that the PLA is still taking actual actions and has issued a stronger warning to "Taiwan independence" separatist forces like Lai Qingde.
The next day, Taiwan's defense department announced that within 24 hours, there were 18 sorties of PLA military aircraft and six warships operating around the Taiwan Strait, and the closest thing to Taipei was only more than 30 nautical miles.
(People's Liberation Army patrols Taiwan)
At the end of June, the PLA did not slacken its regular patrols against Taiwan, and six military planes and seven warships were dispatched again; it is worth noting that in this operation, the PLA carrier-based helicopters took on the task of approaching Taiwan Island, and the closest distance was only 35 nautical miles from Eluanbi. This move has also brought more pressure to the Taiwan authorities, which means that the PLA can act simultaneously in high and low airspace, and in terms of the strength of the Taiwan military, it will certainly not be able to make a means of response.
It should be noted that although the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has been patrolling Taiwan non-stop, unlike the so-called "threats" mentioned by some voices on the island, the mainland's relevant actions are aimed at "Taiwan independence" separatist forces such as the Taiwan authorities, not at ordinary people on the island. The Taiwan authorities should also get used to the PLA's actions to encircle Taiwan, and as long as the former still wants to "seek independence," the mainland will certainly not stop its actions.
However, the current Taiwan authorities are not only "seeking independence," but what is even more infuriating is that they are using the people on the island as a shield, just as after the "Opinions" on punishing "independence" were issued, Lai Qingde actually hyped up the "Opinions" to target the 23 million people on the island in order to divert attention. This kind of thinking is clearly to kidnap the people on the island and make them embark on the same path of "seeking independence" as the Taiwan authorities.
(Lai Qingde)
However, judging from the direction of the wind on the island, Lai Qingde's means are useless at all, and more and more people on the island have seen his true face, just like when he was almost a month in office, the polls on the island showed that he had lost nearly 2 million supporters, which is not a good illustration of the problem?
In addition, the mainland's hard-line stance toward "Taiwan independence" all along, I believe that soon the Taiwan authorities will not be able to play a role and the Taiwan Strait issue will be smoothly resolved.
