OpenAI has recently gradually rolled out its first ChatGPT app for Mac, which was previously only available to Plus subscribers. Starting today, the ChatGPT macOS app is fully available to all users. OpenAI says the app is designed to "integrate seamlessly into anything you do on your computer." This app is built specifically for Mac and provides a shortcut key (CMD + space) to launch at any time, it is worth mentioning that for the time being, ChatGPT for Mac is only available for Apple Silicon Mac, and cannot be installed on Intel Mac.
Multiple interactive functions
Users can easily interact with ChatGPT and have the option to attach assets such as files, photos, and screenshots for ChatGPT to respond to. In addition, users can also activate voice mode to interact with ChatGPT through voice. OpenAI says a new version of voice mode with GPT-4o functionality will be available on Macs in the coming weeks.
Enjoy the new desktop app for both free and paid users
Whether you're a free or paid user, OpenAI offers this new ChatGPT desktop app designed to integrate seamlessly into the user's computer operations. Just use a simple shortcut (Option + space) to ask ChatGPT a question at any time. Users can also take screenshots and discuss them directly in the app.
Voice mode enhances the interactive experience
Users can now have voice conversations with ChatGPT directly from their computers, starting with the voice mode that ChatGPT can use when it is launched, and new audio and video features of GPT-4o will be introduced in the future. Whether you're looking to come up with a new idea for your company, prepare for an interview, or discuss a topic, simply tap the headset icon in the bottom right corner of the desktop app to start a voice conversation.
